A lot of ramblings about kids, art, food, pets, life and work and trying to make it all make sense.

Write what you know.
I have been writing in one form or another since my maternal grandma taught me how to. I was the only grandchild until I was seven. That coupled with how much time I spent at my grandparent's house growing up meant that I learned a lot of stuff a little earlier than the rest of my peers, and learned to love things like reading and writing very early on.
I don't understand Fortnite.
I have a thirteen year old, so I hear and see a lot about this video game that has seemingly taken over just about any platform that you can play video games on. I have watched him play, I have watched YouTubers play and still I don't have a great grasp on the point of the game.
The Battle of Streaming Services
Just about everyone has a subscription to at least one streaming service. However a lot of families have multiple streaming services, which brings up the question of which one is the best?
My house isn't a mess, it's lived in.
If you walk through my door you will be greeted by one of our five dogs or a child, or both. The living room is where the dogs and our younger child hang out. It's where movie are watched, art projects are done and meals are eaten. It's not dirty, but there is generally a mess. There's dog toys, and school papers and kids clothes, there's always glitter somewhere and usually a barbie shoe or squishy toy stuffed in some part of the couch or recliner. It's lived in.
The social experiment
It took me several minutes to come up with a title for this story. When someone says social and is talking about the internet they are usually talking about social networks like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. However if you think past that, anything that you interact with while online has a social aspect. Vocal might appear to jsut be platform to some people, but its for sure dependent on social media. To get views and in turn earnings, you have to share your writing and that involves social media. So I thought that I would go ahead and try my hand at my own little social experiement here on Vocal and see if it is worth the time invested and money invested and sign up for Vocal Plus. So I guess you could call this my introduction to said social experiment.
Just like any other American family, we have several streaming services that we pay for and use. Like just about anyone else, we have decided that there are pro and cons to all of them, just like there is in anything and everything. However over the last several months, where we have spent a little more time with our streaming services (we worked through all the lockdown and craziness, but things did slow down for a little while), we have decided that one of the streaming services we subscribe to is by far better than the others.
What We Ate #1
I have been a southern girl my whole life, even before I actually lived in the south. Ask anyone that I grew up with and they will tell you that if they could place me anywhere as an adult it would be somewhere in the south.
Mobile Game Review: Big Farm
For some reason the internet loves farming games. Why? No one knows, but ever since Facebook started offering games, farm games have been among the most popular. I never really understood the attraction. Sure I played around with Farmville a little, but my interest waned fast, and soon my pigs were dying out and my crops were drying up.
