She Made Me Who I Am
Red, orange, and yellow, all fell blissfully from the giant oak tree that rests in front of grandmother's house on her green grassed lawn full of dandelions. Grandmother sat respectfully in her rocking chair on the front porch watching as mother nature transformed into the season of fall. Fall was her favorite season. Smiling, resting, and occasionally crocheting. Grandmother was extremely talented at crocheting. She made blankets, little baby booties, pot holders.. you name it. If you desired something or thought of something that she could make, she could, and would. She also loved baking and cooking. Can you guess who cooked for thanksgiving? And Christmas? What about who spoiled all the grandkids? Yep, you guessed correct my friend. It was always grandmother. Not only did grandmother have so many grandkids, but she also had 9 kids total of the family. It's a big family.

Breaking Through the Ice
Cold. Dense. The hills and mountains along the Alaskan ranges sat in steep piles. Between every curve and mythical peak on these mountains, sat various amounts of these ice crystals. However, there was this myth of the ancient snow creature that lived amongst them. From the sides of the mountains, all the way down into a valley also sat steep piles of snow. There were also many lakes and ponds that had been frozen over. All the kids in the small neighborhoods would go ice skating every day on them. But, there was one frozen over pond that no one dared skate across. It's said in the stories and myths that this very pond lies in the valley up against the snowy mountains, where the snow creature, the Minotaur passes through throughout the day. So from there, everyone was scared and avoided it.

Diving High
On the first day of Elementary school, someone came to visit. All of us kids in the 3rd grade were sitting on a sticky, plastic, hollow bleacher. It was dark at first in the auditorium where all the 9 year old's sat. You can hear there voices mumbling from across the empty echoing floor. From a sudden moment, the lights beamed on. They shined so bright in our faces, we all gasped. Our short, stumpy Principal Thatcher came into the auditorium. You can hear every one of his footsteps on the vinyl floors. He walked so conspicuously to the center of the floor where he planted his foot hard. He turned and faced us all and sat there for a brief moment giving us a unforgettable glare. Every kid sat quietly, wondering what is going on.

Grandmas Disappearance and Subtle Reappearance
Life is unexpected. You never know when you are in a dream or facing the defeat of reality. My name is Jade. I'm 18 now. When I was in the depths of being a 16 year old, I had a grandma. A grandma that baked cookies, a grandma that spoiled you half to death whenever you stayed over. I had a grandma that stood by my side through the worst. I was very close to my grandma.
