Bio
I mainly do horror. Right now I mostly post on the Nosleep sub on Reddit so that's where my other stories are, though the really old ones are only backed up on here. Hoping to explore more traditional horror structures on here.

If These Walls Could Talk
The candle burned in the window of the living room, which had not been used for its named purpose in many years. Only dead things lived there now; the skeleton of an opossum, the severed head of a rabbit brought in by a cat the day before, and the bloating carcass of a raccoon. Countless insects as well, but those had lived and died in multitudes before the cabin had become what it was.

The Accursed Mountains
“There weren’t always dragons in the Valley.” Edon’s voice boomed over the field. “That’s what your children and your grandchildren will tell each other.” He held his sword up to the cloudless sky, the sunshine an indicator that there was still ample time before the fighting would begin. Rovena, standing near the back of the army, worried about the pleasant weather. “In rotted castles and lifeless towns, they’ll whisper to each other the tales of the golden days. Of the days when the sun shone, and crops still sprouted-”

Minerva's Owl
My little cousin Minnie is a talented artist but the owl painting was by far her worst work. I'd been working with her all summer and I could honestly say it was the only one that appeared to be done by a girl her age. She was just six years old but already showing talent that was impressive, bordering on prodigious.

The Eye in the Gap
One of my earliest childhood memories involves telling my mom about the eye that watched me from the doorway. I don’t remember the first time I saw the eye, even then it was just a part of my life. But I distinctly remember trying to explain to her in whatever broken english I was speaking at that point in my development, that there was an eye that followed me everywhere I went.

Why I Stopped Babysitting
The last day I spent with Addy started with a long novel of a text message at six am. His mom, Kathy, had an out of town family emergency. She was incredibly vague about what was actually happening, but insisted that it was urgent, and that I really needed to watch Addy for the day. Since I was on break, and I liked Addy slightly more than I disliked Kathy, I told her I was on my way. When I stepped in the door, she stepped out. She looked disheveled, to say the least.

A Letter From Next Halloween
Every weekend my dog wakes me up at seven AM sharp. He doesn’t understand the concept of sleeping in. I take around five minutes to throw on some pants and find my glasses, and another five to get Bjorn ready for the morning walk and reach the path that runs through the woods. It’s another ten minutes to walk and we are back at the house by roughly 7:20. Since nobody else wants to be out that early it usually runs like clockwork, but that morning was different.

Rubbernecking
The traffic jam started a few miles earlier than usual. I was used to things clogging up near the downtown exit, but after a few minutes of slowly crawling forward I tuned into the traffic report. There was an accident a few miles down, but they were cleaning it up so I decided to power through it on the highway and just deal with all the rubbernecking.

The Blue Hole
Visiting the Blue Hole was a rite of passage for kids in our town. It was in the woods, but only about a five minute walk from some apartments. So it had mystery to it, but really, help was just a quick dash away. We weren't supposed to go there, and most kids didn’t actually swim in it. But if you dipped a toe in or drank a handful of the clear water, it meant you were brave. It was stupid, and dangerous. But that’s what kids do.
