prologue Hey, my name is Akame Kuri. Yes, I know it’s a weird name but it’s the name I was given at five years old by the institute. Now the institute is a big organisation that advertises different small businesses over Tokyo, so why did they give me a new name? I can answer that one easy. The institutes full title is the institute of Chinmoku assassination training facility. T.I.O.C for short. And yes, you heard right, assassins. The institute is an underground part of the government that no one knows about. Remember when you were five years old and you had to do that weird exam week full of practical assessments and problem-solving issues? That was the institutes way of finding kids to kidnap and train. I was one of those kids so if you didn’t pass you should be happy… this is no life I would have chosen for anyone. Anyway, moving on. The institute doesn’t only train assassins they send them out on missions and give them contracts and I can guarantee every one of the assassins have been experimented on. I know I have. I was made a half breed between a witch and a vampire don’t ask me how I have no idea I was five and unconscious for most of it. The training was hard and painful I can tell you now. But I got my first contract at the age of ten, an old couple who owed a lot of money to the institute. I mean it’s not like I can refuse they have my twin sister captive so I did what any sibling would do. I took my poisoned katana and I went and killed the old couple. I cried so much that night but Its al part of the job. After that the killing came easier. Deep breath, get in, kill, get out. Soon enough I became the institutes youngest assassin and the best in the country. I never really thought of morals or why the institute wanted people dead its all part of the job so I did what I had to. That was until my recent contract.
