'The City of Lost Children'-- The Forgotten Classic.
"The City of Lost Children" has been recognized, the world over, as one of the greatest films ever made. Not that year, or that decade, or that genre, it's literally one of the greatest EVER. The movie was an expensive, high-tech French production, using more special effects than any other French film in history. It also happened to be a huge flop, at the time, for the studio. With the film only making only 1.7 million dollars compared to its 18 million dollar budget. But... It has since become a bonafide cult classic among some of the best. It's truly a huge surprise to know that many Americans have never even heard of or even seen it.

THE BUNKER DOOR IS CLOSED... Summer is sitting down, with her back against the wall, gazing at intricate water stains opposite to her. Her four year old daughter Rebecca is laying in her lap while her ten year old son Tommy rests his head on a folded military-green blanket placed over her thigh. Summer is so exhausted that her mind fazes out and starts daydreaming different designs from the water stains. The way someone would with clouds.

Remember that scene at the end of 1982's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, When that boy Elliot is saying goodbye to that ugly little alien crying like a little baby. E.T. reaching his finger out and touching Elliot's finger. Oh man, that movie touched everyone back the day. Back when children were actually sweet and innocent, NOT ravenous piranha-like monsters who'd eat your goddamn brains out in a matter of seconds. Man, those were days.
