Lost Indeed
The pungent smell of old beer, wine, soda and milk filled her nostrils. The clatter and jingle of bottles and cans filled her ears. She watched as the tiny lady in the mask and the gloves pulled the slimy containers towards her with awkward hands, tossing them into bins and punching numbers into the calculator, the screen above her reading out each precious penny.

This year in teaching has been unlike any I have known in my decade of experience. As I prepared to return to the classroom after distance educating for months and looked at all the new rules, I was already conflicted. As the year progresses I only become more and more aware and concerned about the choices we are making today and how they will affect these little humans in the long run.

I Will Learn to Let Go
Letting go is never easy. We hold-on to objects that seem to hold so much meaning, to ideas that will never grow beyond a rich fantasy...and to people that show so much potential. We hold on. We grip with so much mental effort it is exhausting. This year, I am learning to let go.

The Family Pizza Tour
There are two things every family enjoys. No matter who you are or where you come from, we all love a road trip and we all love pizza. This summer we decided to drive from our home in Saskatchewan to visit our families in South-Eastern Ontario. A 38 hour road trip, in a Yaris, with a nearly 3 year old who is full-on three-nager and a busy 6 year old boy.
