Dragon's Den
“There weren’t always dragons in the Valley,” I read to the group of kids sitting in a group on their miniature mats. The museum lobby has been taken over by these little ones with wild eyes and open ears. I am only sixteen but being able to have this summer internship at my favorite place has made almost all of my dreams come true. “The Valley is where most of the fossils in this museum have come from!” I point to the bones strategically designed to display the dragon fossil hanging from the ceiling. I have spent most of my time in this lobby reading and studying the fossil of the dragons that have been found throughout the world. I know this pamphlet from front to back and the kids get engulfed by it. It is nice to look at all their little faces and see so much diversity but only two kids that are humans also.

Pond Water
This is it. The disgusting hot air clogs my nose while at the insect-ridden swap. This boys boy has been ripped to pieces by all the swamp creatures of this bayou. I use to love the bayou and the mysteries that it holds but now. I think the heat or the body has gotten to me. It must have gotten to this guy too. I can tell it is a suicide. The rope around his neck with a concrete block at the end is a dead giveaway. His limp body was found floating eerie in a swamp close to the busy highway. The officers have already taken him out of his watery grave.

Time Ripper
"If you are reading this I have gone too far. This has been the biggest tragedy that I could ever imagine. I have become a cold case that will never be solved. It shouldn't be if I can help it." My apartment felt strange this evening. The warm sunset was beaming in the bay window. The warmth on my neck was new after the franticly drastic hair cut from the morning. The day became a week then back to the beginning of today and I am still trying to focus on it. Running all morning. Pain in my mind from all of the looping. Strain in my heart from the deaths I have caused. "The autopsy of the child's body will begin today." The tv whispers in the other room as Gina reads from the small black book she found on top of the huge bag filled with hundreds.

Doll Village
Months went by as the mother’s stomach grew. She rubbed and loved her blooming body and seldom thought of the dark night with the spirit. The day that Jiguang was born the sun shone bright. Her mother is a strong woman, so her labor was quick and filled with joyful tears.

At Home Roast Beef PoBoy
Made with a side of Avocado Ranch Dressed Salad and a Cocktail. This is a pure favorite to me. I love gravy in any meal and on a sandwich were I can dip it in is a meal goal. New Orleans has helped guide my taste bud to surprisingly simply meals to make and eat. A Roast Beef PoBoy is at the top of my list. It is a great pregame meal or a good meal to have while staying in for a family meal. I went to my local grocery story ( Thank you Food Lion) and got Roasted beef on a 2 setting, the lowest setting. A lot of us are looking for a lighter option than greasy delicious fries so I made a side of salad with a simply Avocado and Ranch “green” dressing that is flavorful with hints of lime. Drinking a bubbly STRONG cocktail always goes well if a hearty sandwich. Four Loko ,the classic, mixed with juice is like the drunk cousin of a mimosa.

Green Chicken Soup
Raining day meal full of flavor for a dreary day. You slow cook in a Dutch oven or deep pot but I will be using our Gumbo pot. It is deep enough to fill with larger poultry but not too deep that my arm will get engulfed in it. I will be using a Magic bullet as a blender but a food processor will bring the same results. I found this recipe and I was inspired to try it. Surprisingly, it turned out to be one of my families favorite meals. This is a winner in any restaurant or household because it can have the toppings that you choose. We use veggies, cheese, and sour cream because it is our variation of a chicken soup.

Doll Village
In the meek darkness of the past, a small village sat at the edge of a lush forest. During these times, hope was just a word some spoke to lighten children’s hearts. The elder villagers knew the cost that poverty brought. Age brings tolerance, but once hungry bellies begin to scream into the night, the elders become just as useless as the weak.
