Dragon Valley
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. But there was always dragon eggs. Sometimes a human could stumble across an egg, so big and bright, heat radiating off its surface. Sometimes, the egg would be cold to the touch, meaing that the egg lost its heat and there as no helping the baby inside.

Safe Travels
Marcie looked out through the cracks of the crate she found herself in, breath coming in short pants. Her fingers were numb from the cold, the cargo bay a cool temperature to keep the extra food good, but she waited for a chance to leave her safe haven. The people around the crates were finishing the last of the cargo count and left, the lights turning off overhead and leaving only a deafening silence.

Natasha woke up, snuggled under the blanket, curling further into the warmth. Someone was poking her, a tingling sensation forming at the base of her spine. She opened her eyes, squinting through the sleep still weighing her down. Evira stood near her bedside table, covered head to toe in winter gear. The puffiest coat she owns, her brown pom pom hat and gloves in her dangling from her limp fingers.

Evira sat crossed-legged on the porch, squinting through the rays of sun beaming down on her. Her hands were curled around a glass filled to the brim with cold water, ice clanging against the sides. She titled her head back to feel the sun better, breathing deeply through her nose.
