I thrive on midnight talks about the Universe and how it works. More so, I love the idea that with a single pen and 50 cent notebook I can create worlds.
So it's been about 11 days since my last upload. Every time I start to feel better, I backslide just a little bit further than where I originally was and that's become an issue this year. As Christmas inches ever closer (can you believe it's next week? Because I sure can't) I find myself once again feeling the pull of inspiration stunted by my own mental health.
I have this interesting idea to post some of my short-stories/free-writing stuff here as well. I think it will ultimately help me grow as a writer and I like the idea that a piece of me will be out there in the void of the Internet and whoever comes across it, comes across it. Whoever doesn't, well...I guess they just don't see it?
With Christmas right around the corner, I wanted to take this opportunity to revisit one of the coolest moments of my life because 2020 has been a royal-pile-of-glitter. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love Joe Hill as a writer. It started a little after I graduated high-school when I found his paperback, Horns, on the shelf at a bookstore in the Los Angeles Airport.
This was a weird one to come across, does anyone remember Tangled? Okay, to jog your memory because it's been a decade. Tangled is Disney's take on the story of Rapunzel, but with a twist.
Trigger Warning: This isn't a happy story. But it is a story that I feel needs to be told. I feel like if I don't say something or let this go the only way that I know how, it'll follow me into next year. I don't know about you, but I'd very much like to leave this year behind me as much as I humanly can.
Here it is you guys, the moment some, if not most of us 'Steven Universe' fans have been waiting for. The slow burn of Steven's descending Mental Health sparking a fire. That fire? Gem Corruption.
'Together Forever' opens in Steven's Room, Steven is sprawled across his bed talking to Connie. This is the first real time we see Steven comfortable since the beginning of Steven Universe: Future and the events of the Steven Universe Movie. It's a nice change to the gloom that Steven has been feeling up until this point.
I had this re-occurring thought when I first started watching Steven Universe in 2015. By then, it had already had a little following I had yet to understand. But in that brief period of bliss, before we found out who Rose Quartz really was; I kept thinking "when will the other shoe drop?"
