The Missing Piece
Ahh, New Year’s Eve. The one time of year that Moonlight (myself) gets to escape all the other family-holiday shenanigans and can just get some quiet time to herself. The bartender knew my face by now, I had been to this same Rustic Lounge for three years straight.

A resolution to rest.
Well, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that. At least, I didn’t mean to say it that way, I did mean it though. Hey, hey! Your body here. Umm, not sure how to kick off this conversation with you now that I’ve got your attention, but a New Year is here and well… we need to do better. I’m sorry for talking to you like that earlier, as you can tell- I’m exhausted and a little irritable. Okay, medium irritable.

A date with Willpower.
“New year, new me!” has never been a motto that I used too often. I always intended on being the same me, but better. Truthfully though, I was affirming that 2020 had my name all over it and I had big plans! I remember sitting on Hollywood Beach on New Year’s Day with my eyes closed, visualizing the year ahead. Faint Bachata music played in the distance from the live band, the sand beneath me kept me grounded while in thought, and every gust of wind felt like it whispered; “You got this.”
