'Dragon Strike' for the NES
Dragon Strike is set in Krynn, which is from the Dragonlance Saga. For those who are unfamiliar with Dungeons and Dragons, the table top, role-playing system had numerous worlds or realms, but Dragonlance was one of the more popular ones, which went on to inspire several novels as well. Dragon Strike, the video game, however, was released in 1990 to a variety of systems, but ported to the NES in 1992. The NES version was a little...okay, a lot different from the other ports, but it's still a hell of a game!

Trojan for the NES
Trojan was released by Capcom on the NES in North America waaay back in 1987. There was a previous version released as an arcade machine the year before. I have no clue why this game is even called Trojan. I might’ve called it Wastelands or Badlands.

'The Granstream Saga'
Every once in a while, I’ll talk about a hidden gem; I’ll discuss a game I was fortunate enough to discover as a kid, but sometimes, there are gems among gems. The Granstream Saga is definitely in that category, but this is not a game I played as a kid. Though the game was released for Play Station in North America way back in 1998, which means I was 15-years-old, I did not discover this game until late 2016.

'Arcana' for the SNESTop Story - February 2018
Arcana was one of the SNES games I found at the flea market. Back when I was a kid, my mom used to take me to a local flea market once or twice a month, and there were always tables with video games for sale. Even though Arcana wasn’t an old game at the time, it was released in 1992, it wasn’t one that stores carried much, and I don’t recall seeing it for rent at Blockbuster either, although I’m sure some stores carried it.

'Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance'
Dark Alliance is another Dungeons and Dragons game for the GBA. I believe there is another version of this game for the PS2 as well, but I’ve never played it. All the Dungeon and Dragons video games have a special appeal to me; it may be because they are based on a very rich and intricate world originally created by Gary Gigax and Dave Arneson. Maybe, it’s just because I was a DnD dork playing throughout high school. I don’t know…at any rate, Dark Alliance is a pretty good game.

'Eye of the Beholder'
Eye of the Beholder is a Dungeons and Dragons game originally released for the SNES. The GBA version has some changes, mostly in the battle system, but there are others such as a lack of a beholder, a gruesome ball like, fleshy, multi eyed beast, which can find your party of warriors just about anywhere. Obviously the beholder still exists, but it has decided to wait patiently for your arrival. It’s a smug prick.

5 Game Boy Games You Don't Need to Play
The Game Boy was Nintendo's first handheld game console to hit the stores. Released in 1989, it boasted a rather strange library. Many games were remakes of games available on the NES, but some were games created exclusively for the Game Boy. None of the remakes for the original Game Boy were as good as their NES counterparts, but many of the other games were fun…in small spurts.

'King's Field: The Ancient City'
The Ancient City is the third 'King’s Field' we received in North America. It was produced by From Software in 2001, but released by Agetec to America in 2002. I have never played the original King's Field, which to my knowledge was only released in Japan, but I have played the North American one and two releases on Play Station, and they are some of the best first person, hack and slash, fantasy games ever, yet they pale in comparison to The Ancient City.

Chocobo Racing
If you aren’t familiar with chocobos then you are in the wrong place, but you are forgiven. Chocobos are like…chickens…or ostriches, and they belong to the Final Fantasy series. They are present in every game, I think, and I also think there are other chocobo based games, but Chocobo Racing is, well, a racing game where you get to play as a Chocobo.
