The Coaster

Where to go next?

The Coaster

He wasn’t happy, no matter where he went.

Or where he worked; everything felt so simple, yet he always felt spent.

He moved around aimlessly.

He looked for something fruitlessly.

He wanted to write.

He wanted to socialize, to feel the light.

He wanted to spread his wings; learn how to fly.

He wanted to feel seen.

He always needed to start clean.

He wanted to embrace the shine.

He wanted to cozy up in cold; feel his spirit permanently ignite.

To step away from the existential fixation.

To restart without hesitation.

The sun and the cold.

The heat of the moment, the frigidness taking hold.

Why can’t he be like the rest?

Happy in his place without needing to test.

Neuroticism drives him  from coast to coast.

Unable to withstand life creeping in, feeling the roast.

His dreams; what were they?

His life; scrolling through the day.

He no longer knew whether he was good or foul.

People-pleaser or devourer.

Nowhere to call his.

So he continued onto the next coast, longing for the next kiss.

In reality, he needs a holster.

The coaster, a man without a course.
