This article might seem irrelevant to many people because in today’s world, people do not usually purchase yarn and knit something rather they order or go to malls to buy the clothes. Those days are almost gone when the ladies used to knit sweaters, caps and so many other things with the best yarn with different designs for their kids in the winter. Now, it is not the need but the hobby, people buy yarn and knit something as a hobby. If you have ever worn a knitted cloth or seen people wearing it then you must have noticed the difference in the yarn. Some yarn seems so rough but some yarn seems so smooth and fabulous. There are so many types of yarn, from alpaca wool to acrylic, and each type has its feel and look which makes them beautiful. If you are someone who knits and crochets or want to try but do not have enough knowledge about the yarns then this article would be worth reading. It will save you time at the store because people get so confused and overwhelmed that they feel difficulty in choosing the right yarn. I shall also discuss that how you should use the yarn and make a beautiful knitted cloth.

Animal Fibers- this would not be wrong to say that this is the first and foremost choice of all the knitters and crocheters. The best type of animal fiber comes from the merino sheep and its wool is known as merino wool. This wool is the right choice for its softness, elegance, breathability, and warmth. Other than merino wool alpaca yarn it is taken from alpaca animals, it is known for its softness and moisture-wicking properties. This would be the right option if you are thinking of something luxurious and cozy garment.

Silk Yarn- everyone is aware of this yarn that is received from the silkworm cocoons and it is light and has a beautiful sheen. It is very smooth and delicate which is used for intricate projects. The cloths made of silk are worn throughout the world and in the countries like India, ladies wear silk saree of different designs. It could be costly for some people.

Cashmere- if anything comes after silk then it would be cashmere only. It is known for its best quality and softness. It is obtained from the Angora goats. The mufflers and cardigans made of cashmere are the top choices of the westerners.

Plant Fibers-

Well, fibers are not obtained from animals only, there are so many types of plant-based fibers that come from various plants like cellulose-like seeds, stalks, or leaves. The most prevalent one is cotton yarn. It is so easy to use and for beginners who are learning or recently started then this would be an excellent choice to begin with. It is durable, soft, and breathable and it should be used in summer only. It allows air to pass which stops our bodies from sweating.

Linen- this fiber is also very popular which is obtained from the flax plant’s long stalks. It is very lightweight and absorbs the moisture. At first, you might find it a little rough and pricky but it gets smooth over time which makes linen fibers a good choice for summer garments if you want to make something to decorate your home then this should be your preferred yarn.

Bamboo-Based Fiber- if you are an environmentalist and want to wear something eco-friendly then this would be the best option for you. it is soft in nature and anti-bacterial. This would not be easily available in the markets that’s why you have to search this fiber on online platforms such as sites like eBay, it has a wide range of products and you can easily get this here.

Jute- this is also a rand but not suitable for the articles of clothing due to its rough nature. Jute can be used in the making of eco-friendly bags or make various products to decorate your home.

These are the few types of fibers which you can use.
