Because of the way they are marketed, they are not one-size-fits-all, says Sareena Rama, a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor in Orange County, CA. They are liberating, but they include items that resemble limited battery life (buy no less than 5 hours), complicated controls, and a dependence on chargers. Extra-high picks can help from our best wireless headphones, the best noise-cancelling headphones, the best cheap headphones and the best workout headphones.

Most Bluetooth-enabled devices do not have an electronic aux port, so wireless earphones are a safe choice if you want to take an adapter with you on the go. Others include a wire to connect the buds, which can be useful for a few common situations. A wired pair of earbuds can be wireless by connecting to your phone or computer with a Bluetooth cable on the left and the buds on the right, but we would call them wireless.

Sennheiser beats him off with these wireless earbuds from the park, which offer great noise cancellation, chic looks and stunning sound. Nura includes a cable clamp instead of the cable that runs through traditional wireless headphones, allowing you to connect to non-Bluetooth devices. The earphone touch-based controls are a bit fussy, and the sound quality is muted, with male vocals giving cymbals and crashes a tinny feel and piano tones a twist.

Brands such as Bose, Sony and Sennheiser are known for their outstanding sound quality and you would expect their reputation to shine through with their wireless earbuds. This means that the new models of these wireless headphones cost a little more than their predecessors but is worth it in our opinion. When these headphones first came on the market, we didn't see many with noise-cancelling capabilities, but now it seems that noise-cancelling earphones are the standard.

We've tried a lot of wireless earbuds in recent years and the popular audio brand 1More has made some of our favorite in-ear earbuds for a couple of years and has been doing so for two generations. Originally called Colorbuds, the name has changed to the more stylish second-generation 1Mores 100 Wireless Earbuds and are our new favorites. They are more comfortable, more resistant to sweat and sound just as good as buds, which are two or three times more expensive.

The IPX5 rating means it's OK to take the 1Mores 100 second-generation wireless earphones on a remote exercise, and they have four built-in microphones for better call quality compared to previous models. Sony's newest real wireless earphone, the Sony WF-SP800N, is a bit uncomfortable to wear for a long time, and the bass is a bit mushy to our taste, but still worth a look. They are IP55 (sweat-resistant, dustproof and highly waterproof), good enough for commuters and have active noise cancellation built in and are a rare pair of earbuds that work for music lovers when needed thanks to their support for Sony's new spatial audio format 360-reality audio.

For what it's worth they don't offer the same level of noise cancellation or over-the-ear headphone sound quality as some of the other high-end earphones on this list, but they offer a competitive and deserved place on our list for their price. The AirPods Pro Earbuds are good for Apple fans, but they're not worth the price tag. There is a certain give and take when choosing between wireless earphones and wireless headphones.

Battery life is one of the most important features when looking for a pair of wireless earphones. Quite a few people experience rattling from one earpiece to another. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are an absolute must, and the most interesting earbuds you'll discover are in the remote class.
