Janine Santana December 3, 2019 Confession of an OK Boomer. Am I OK With This? Social Media is mind blowing. Look upon it from the point of view of a “baby boomer”. Within the lifetime of a typical middle-aged person today, let’s say my own boom boom boomer self, communication has evolved from engaging with carefully chosen pen pals via cursive, hand written letters on onion skin paper that traveled via airplanes, jeeps and by foot over days or weeks to electronic instant communication using “emojis”, “gifs” and short, partial phrases viewed from trendy applications on telephone devices held in the palm of my hand. What?! At the very least, I’m astounded at how lightning-fast we closely engage with total strangers around the planet. Gone are the pencils, paper, envelopes, stamps and time spent carefully rendering full letters. Our tools now are electronic light, digitally rendered symbols, videos and a few shortened sentences (think of the limits “Twitter”) bounced in real time off satellites and WiFi radio waves into the palms of our hands. I don’t always feel like enough soul goes into my electronic posts as went into my hand rendered, cursive letters. (Ok, Boomer). At most, I’m delighted to have instant playtime with my somewhat “adulting” friends.

Julia TurlisPublished 5 years ago in 01The Value of Authenticity on Your Social Medias
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about social media. It's fascinating to think about how our entire lifestyles revolve around it. We share the events we attend, the people we converse with, but most of all, we put ourselves out there. The way we project ourselves through pictures and posts on these apps is how we want to be seen and remembered by those around us. The lead singer of my favourite band, The 1975, Matty Healy, recently quoted this in an interview, which is really what began inspiring these thoughts: "For me, social media is about saying: this is what I do, but for young people, it's [saying]: this is who I am."
Hannah LilyPublished 5 years ago in 01How to Post Multiple Pictures on Instagram
Normally a solo picture does not express all stories. Therefore, in early 2017, Instagram introduced an amazing multiple-picture posting feature that is called carousel. It allows you to post up to 10 pictures in a slideshow and it is more like a slideshow of different pictures which your followers may swipe through. This is the exact way of increasing more Instagram followers. Initially, this feature was accessible just on sponsored advertisements.

As much as it pains me to admit this, I do not remember a time when I would come back from school and not log onto a computer. I was addicted, but I was no different from the millions of other teenagers born in the late nineties and early two-thousands who got home and would relax to the tune of their MSN logging in.
Laura ScalcoPublished 5 years ago in 01How Social Media Is Sucking Life out of You
To most people, the introduction and growth of social media is the best thing that has happened in the world over the last century. In all honesty, no one should blame anybody for subscribing to this school of thought. Doesn’t Facebook help you keep in touch with family and friends, after all? As a matter of fact, were it not for Twitter, how else could you be sharing your opinions with the world? And without Instagram, how could you be showing off your cool acquisitions? Social media is indisputably important in today’s world.

Out of all the other elements and features in Instagram, your bio is one of the most under-utilized features. However, it is extremely important. Without a proper and perfect bio, it can be very difficult, if not impossible for you to describe you and your business perfectly to the users. If they do not know what you do and what your product is all about, there will be no significant reason left to them to follow you.
