How I Feel About Cell Phones
Cell phones have changed the world. At the tip of your finger is access to the world of knowledge. You can use it as a camera or GPS. It has many valuable features. However, the obsession with cell phones is harmful, like any addiction. There are children who completely freak out if you take their cell phone away. There are young adults who get completely lost without their cell phone. This is not how it should be.
Shanon NormanPublished 6 years ago in 01Most Evil Movie Computers
...If they haven't already! After all, everyone is just in a simulation, right? We may not think of an intangible technological object, like the computer system, as something capable of preforming immoral activities, but I'd beg to differ. While computers may have literally advanced our species into the next realm of scientific possibilities, we still continue this yearning for major breakthroughs in engineering supercomputers and quantum computer technology, and it remains to be seen whether the impact of artificial intelligence within machines would operate effectively, if anything even morally. As usual, Hollywood has depicted a pretty bad track record of fictionalized advanced mechanics. According to them, the best ways to mitigate computer risks and infections is to create even more than you already had to start with.
Salvador LorenzPublished 6 years ago in 01How the Internet Destroyed Everything
Not too long ago, an idea was developed that would allow endless streams of information to be shared nearly instantaneously. Snail mail would give way to email. Loaning out music tapes and CDs would give way to music file sharing, etc. This idea was called the Worldwide Web and it would effectively link everyone on Earth. The idea made the world a much smaller place, because now a person could find themselves speaking to others in foreign countries and even making friends with their favorite celebrities.
Tim Ellerbe IIPublished 6 years ago in 01Coolest Superhero Gadgets Used in Movies
We've seen some truly memorable superheroes over the past few years, what with the Dark Knight series, which started with Batman Begins, the X-Men series, and who could forget the now astoundingly huge Marvel Cinematic Universe, boasting such heroes as Iron Man, Captain America, and now even Doctor Strange. Whether adapted from the comic books of old, or rejuvenated for a new on-screen image, we've witnessed some amazing powers over the years, but what about the trinkets?
George HermanPublished 6 years ago in 01Taking the Bait
I was standing in the checkout line at the grocery store recently. As I was avoiding eye contact with the other people in line, I started check out the magazine covers. Did you know that tabloids still exist? National Enquirer, The Daily Star, Weekly World News; all of these are still printed publications. If you haven’t read any of these rags, you might accidentally think that some of it is true. It’s like old time-y click bait.

The Dark Web Videos – Horrors From Beyond
The dark web is a place that seems deliciously appealing to some and terrifying to others. It's a place that anyone could enter with the right know-how while also keeping the image of being a forbidden land where very few should tread. So what is the dark web and why are there so many horror stories about it?
The Unholy CreeperPublished 6 years ago in 01 In Defense of Turning Tech Off for the Sake of Sanity
There's a lot that can be said about modern society — and much of it is great. We are, in general, a more open-minded society than we were 50 years ago. Our grocery stores are better and carry better varieties of food than they used to. And, booze can be ordered online and delivered to your door.
Ossiana M. TepfenhartPublished 6 years ago in 01Robo Call Headaches
It seems I do not receive too many telephone calls from humans anymore. Rather, most are from computers (aka "robo calls") either soliciting something or informing me of the schedule of a maintenance worker. Like a lot of you, I am not immune to the absurd spam calls. One of my favorites is, "Stop what you're doing and listen carefully..." Yeah, like I'm going to drop everything and listen to some dolt trying to sell me something. I can usually hangup on such calls within one second.
How Does the Dark Web Work?
The Dark Web is now a famous corner of the internet that worries police, parents, and corporations alike. Though it's gained notoriety as the birthplace of Bitcoin and the area of origin for a number of insane horror stories, not many people really know much about the Dark Web.

Trance-Humanism
I am a big fan of all the great things technology has enabled us to do, and also what it has enabled us to not have to do. While many people are still working at jobs they ultimately would not have chosen, the implementation of computer programs and advanced machinery has freed many of us from hard physical labor and moved the workplace into more of a sedentary and techno-dominant realm.
