Why Your Wi-Fi Feels Faster on 2.4 GHz After a Wall
On your bed, your phone says it is connected to 5 GHz. A short video spins. You switch to 2.4 GHz. It plays right away. You start blaming the router, the broadband, the phone. Before you buy anything, walk to the router and run a speed test on 5 GHz. In most homes, it will hit 800 to 1000 Mbps. Then walk back to the bedroom, through a load-bearing wall. The same 5 GHz connection may fail to load a web page.

iPhone 18 Pro Randomly Restarting? Apple Confirms Face ID Bug
Ten days after the iPhone 18 Pro series went on sale, Apple customer service confirmed a system vulnerability tied to Face ID. It causes devices to freeze and restart in specific situations. The issue is software, not hardware, and Apple says a future update will fix it.

Huawei’s New Chip Shouldn’t Be This Efficient. The Teardown Explains Why It Is.
On October 2, 2026, Geekerwan published Logic Folding Deep Dive! How Strong Is Huawei’s Mate 90 Series Tao’s Law Chip? It is not a routine flagship review. The first half cuts open a Kirin 9050 Pro, images the internals with an electron microscope, and turns “logic folding” from a presentation phrase into a physical structure. The second half runs the Mate 90 Pro Max through benchmarks and games. The performance numbers matter. The teardown matters more. The teardown’s publication may matter most.

America Calls It “Super Intelligence.” China Is Building a Different AI Order
Washington changed the name. The competition did not. On September 29, 2026, the Trump administration did something that looked cosmetic but had broader policy consequences: it instructed the U.S. executive branch to replace “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official correspondence, websites, reports, policy documents and other non-statutory government communications. The executive order says existing AI systems should now be understood under the new term and directs the administration to develop a federal definition of “Super Intelligence.”

I Switched to a $15-a-Month Phone Plan. Nothing Changed.. AI-Generated.
For years I paid around $85 a month for my phone plan. Unlimited everything, big carrier name, the works. Then I found out about MVNOs — mobile virtual network operators — and realized I'd been lighting money on fire.

Manus Just Handed Its AI Agents Badges. Its Own Founders Already Said That Was a Mistake.
On September 28, 2026, Manus released version 2.0 and a standalone app called Cue. It was the first major launch after Chinese regulators blocked its acquisition by Meta and forced the companies apart. By mid-September, Manus was reportedly raising $500 million at a $4 billion valuation.

The Dirty Truth About Your Smartphone
You tap an app. Your finger slips. Suddenly, you're staring at a shopping app, and a "shake to download" prompt has already hijacked your screen. You sit back, pick up your phone, and look at the screenshot your parents just sent you. Their notification shade is a digital garbage dump: random news alerts, red envelope pop-ups, and a handful of mysterious app icons grinning at them from the home screen.

Apple’s Vision Pro Is on Life Support. The Redesign That Could Save It Is the One Apple Refuses to Build.
In 2024, Apple released the Vision Pro at $3,499 and called it the start of spatial computing. Two years later, that start looks more like a footnote. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is working on a “radically redesigned” Vision Pro, codenamed N224. The company is exploring four design directions. The product probably won’t arrive until late 2028 or early 2029. Gurman describes the project as being on “life support.”

Three lines outside the venue.
The first line The first line has formed near the loading dock. A man in a faded brown jacket has opened his laptop on his knee and is editing code. He squints at the screen. Types. Deletes. Types again. He does not look up.

Figure AI Found a Robot Scaling Law. 56% of the Time.
In robotics, 56% is an awkward number. It is high enough for Figure AI to say it found a “robotics version of the scaling law.” It is low enough for rivals to say the system cannot generalize. Helix 2.5 sits on that number: 420 tests, 237 successes, a 56% full-task success rate. Supporters see a jump from 9% to 56%. Critics see 183 failures.

I Stopped Sending Files to Myself After Testing Doubao's New Keyboard
Messaging yourself is normal now. You see a link on your phone, send it to File Transfer Assistant, then copy it on your laptop. You save an address on your computer, then send it back to your phone before leaving. Photos, passwords, and browsing history sync. The sentences you need still get stuck on one screen.

I Tested Claude Sonnet 5.5’s Writing. It’s a Reviser, Not a Creator.
At 4 a.m., in a convenience store, an old man does not arrive. That was the prompt. Opus 5.5 wrote a driver buying Red Bull, a cat tripping the motion sensor, and a clerk counting lighters before closing the drawer. Sonnet 5.5 wrote an old man with a worn left cuff, a back turning left, and a streetlight going out. Both versions work. The difference is the ending. Opus puts the feeling inside an ordinary action. Sonnet puts it inside a designed image.
