China Tourism: A Dreamlike Journey (Part 1)
Hello friends, how are you all? For a long time, I had been thinking of sharing my China travel experience with you. Finally, that opportunity has arrived! A few days ago, I visited various historical and naturally beautiful places in China, and today I will tell you the story of that thrilling journey. I will try to bring the pictures of some amazing places I saw before your eyes. My journey began in Beijing, the capital of China. Beijing is not only the current capital of China, but it is also a center of ancient history and culture. As soon as I set foot here, it felt like I had traveled back thousands of years in a time machine. One of the most famous places in Beijing is the Great Wall of China. Its historical importance is immense, and its architectural style is also astonishing. I went to the Badaling section, which is about 70 kilometers away from Beijing city. I was stunned to see the vastness of this wall that stretches windingly over the hills. It felt like a giant python had cut through the heart of the mountains and extended far into the distance. Every brick of the wall seems to be a witness to time, countless wars, and countless ups and downs that this wall has seen. The view of the surrounding green hills from the top filled my heart. The cool breeze and the silence of nature created an extraordinary atmosphere. I lost myself in that vastness for hours. Another important place in Beijing is the Forbidden City. Once the residence of the Chinese emperors, this vast palace complex is a great example of architecture. The red walls and the intricate work of the golden roofs are a feast for the eyes. Entering inside feels like stepping into a fairytale kingdom. With various palaces, temples, and gardens, this city is so large that it is almost impossible to see it all in one day.Every corner of the Forbidden City hides the story of China's rich history. The lifestyle of the emperors, their reign, and the culture of that time—everything seems to come alive through the architecture and artwork here. I visited the Imperial Garden and various halls, where the belongings used by the former emperors are carefully preserved. Another amazing place in Beijing is the Temple of Heaven. It is a beautiful architectural monument where the emperors used to pray for good harvests. The circular roof and the ornate pillars are truly worth seeing. The calm and serene environment here brings peace to the mind. In the morning, many locals can be seen practicing Tai Chi and other exercises here. After Beijing, my destination was Shanghai. While Beijing is the bearer of ancient traditions, Shanghai is the reflection of modern China. Skyscrapers, dazzling lights, and a fast-paced lifestyle—Shanghai is like another world. One of the most attractive places in Shanghai is The Bund. It is a historic waterfront area located on the west bank of the Huangpu River. In the evening, when the skyscrapers here light up, an extraordinary scene is created. The modern architecture of the Pudong area across the river also looks amazing in the night lights. Walking along the Bund and having coffee at a riverside cafe is truly an unforgettable experience. Another modern architectural marvel in Shanghai is the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Its spherical design and height have made it one of Shanghai's landmarks. Climbing to the top of the tower offers a panoramic view of the entire Shanghai city. The city at night seems like a gathering of stars. To get a touch of old Shanghai, one should visit the Yu Garden. It is a traditional Chinese garden with beautiful ponds, rockeries, and exquisite architecture. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this peaceful garden is a haven of tranquility. In this first part of my China travel blog, I shared with you some of the main attractions of Beijing and Shanghai. These two cities are a wonderful blend of China's history, culture, and modernity.
