Samsung Galaxy Event Highlights

In case you missed the Samsung UNPACKED event on February 20, 2019 here's a quick video highlighting the product release and bit of the specs.

Hey Guys! Saksham here and as this is my first ever post on Vocal, why not start it by introducing me. I am a cinematographer, photographer, Youtuber and an Apple/Google App Developer. I love tech and everything surrounding it, which was one of the main reasons I started my own Youtube channel—to reach a wider audience and educate them along with support them with everything related tech. So now back to the actual topic. Incase you missed it, there was a Samsung event; Galaxy Unpacked 2019

I wont be going into detail or anything. This will be more like an overview of what happened and what was announced, just a short summary.

So there were four main products that were announced, and then obviously the rest just go under them...

First the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy S10

Then going under the same category, the Galaxy S10+ and the last in phones, Galaxy S10e.

So, here is a briefing about each product:

Galaxy Fold

• It has a folding display, technically has two displays
• Samsung also claims that WhatsApp, Microsoft Office, and Facebook are among the apps that are optimized for the folding display; and the main point they were mentioning was continuity. (An app from main screen will just open on the big screen.)
• Also multitasks with up to three different apps/software running

Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e

• Apart from the usual, the S10 has has a triple rear camera setup; with a 10 megapixel selfie cam or front facing and lastly a built in display fingerprint scanner.
• The S10+ is pretty much the same, just bigger screen size, battery capacity, memory and instead of one front camera, selfie camera (it has two).
• And at last, the S10e is like a mini, or more affordable version. It has the finger print scanner at the back instead of in display, Single selfie cam like S10 and obviously a smaller screen.

Basically, the Galaxy S10e delivers flagship specs for less.

Now moving from phones, the next thing Samsung mentioned were SmartWatches and GalaxyBuds.

• Galaxy Watch Active
• Galaxy Fit
• And Galaxy Fit e

These are similar to phones with slightly different features, but mainly focused towards health and fitness tracking.

Galaxy Buds can be seen as Samsung’s version of AirPods, just different. In short, they are wireless earbuds.

They did also show off, Galaxy S10 5G, which pretty much has support for 5G Network

• It packs a massive 6.7-inch panel, making it the biggest display on a Samsung phone yet.
• This phone builds on the S10’s triple cameras.
• It hasn’t released yet, but it launches in Q2.

Prices in Canadian Dollars for Base Models:

S10 line starts at $1,019.99 CAD for the S10e, $1,259.99 for the standard S10 and $1,419.99 for the S10+.

The Galaxy Fold starts at $1,980 USD.
