Surprisingly, while computer users around the world are immersed in their oblivion, hundreds of thousands of computers were exposed last Friday afternoon in 150 countries to a large-scale electronic attack through a vulnerability that attackers exploited in the operating system and was newly discovered in the Windows operating system so that the attack spread more widely and faster than any previous attack. This prompted Microsoft, the developer of this system, to break its rules related to software maintenance to maintain users' security.

The widespread cyberattack was called "WannaCry" (I want to cry) and was known as the ransomware virus, in which hackers encrypted data on hundreds of thousands of computers, and demanded that users pay a ransom to enable them to regain control of their devices.

WannaCry was considered one of the most significant electronic attacks that the world has been exposed to so far due to the large number of computers that were damaged as a result of this attack by unknown hackers who did not disclose their identity until this moment.

What are the possibilities about North Korea being behind the ransomware attack?

And in light of the failure of any party to claim responsibility for this attack, experts specializing in computer security announced that they had discovered a possible link to Pyongyang with the electronic attack that many countries of the world were subjected to last Friday afternoon, and hundreds of thousands of computers around the world were damaged because of it, if confirmed, it will be related. This dangerous precedent and another insane breach will be added to the record of North Korea, which the US is angry with and deviant in the eyes of many countries of the world.

Do you see who is the target of the global electronic attack?!

Until this moment, no one has claimed responsibility for what happened last Friday afternoon, and all that is known to us is that unidentified hackers carried out a cyber attack that seemed limited at first, but it quickly spread and affected 300,000 computers in 150 countries, where they encrypted The data of users in these countries and asked them for a ransom to allow them to control their data again and threaten to delete it if their demand is not implemented.

However, suppose North Korea's involvement in the ransom attack is proven. In that case, the target is undoubtedly the United States of America, as it is a sworn enemy of Pyongyang, which will spare no effort to weaken it and inflict losses on it, especially after the North Korean-American relationship entered a new phase of tension and escalation between the two countries. The two sides after Trump arrives at the White House and the almost continuous missile tests of Pyongyang.

On the other hand, Washington, which is supposed to be the target of the ransom attack, if the link between North Korea and this attack is confirmed, denied that any of the branches of the US administration had been affected as a result of the global cyber attack.

Tom Bossert, the advisor to US President Donald Trump, said in a press conference on Tuesday that "none of the federal systems has been affected until this moment" by the global cyber attack, calling on American citizens to take the necessary precautions to avoid the damage resulting from this attack.

"We continue to monitor the development of the situation at the highest level," stressing that the United States is working to determine who is behind the attack.

But the question is that if North Korea is proven to be behind the attack, what measures will the United States of America and the rest of the countries affected by the “WannaCry” virus attack take to punish Pyongyang, and to what extent can cyberattacks be considered part of the war? The coming inevitably between America and North Korea, that war that many experts and analysts believe will be a devastating and devastating war, and it may be the expected real end of this world!!.
