On Wednesday, Kevin De Bruyne scored twice as Manchester City defeated Arsenal 4-1 to take control of the Premier League and close in on retaining their title as English champions.

City have two games in hand, so Pep Guardiola's team can afford to lose one of their remaining seven matches and still win a fifth title in six seasons, even though Arsenal leads the table by two points.

Prior to their trip to the Etihad, the Gunners' attempt to win the league for the first time in 19 years had already failed, as Mikel Arteta's team had lost three of their last four games. However, as City flexed their muscles, they were truly outclassed for the first time this season.

The appearance of Erling Haaland has carried another aspect to a side that was at that point the prevailing power of the English game.

Haaland increased his total for the season in all competitions to 49 with a new record-breaking 33 Premier League goals late in overtime.

However, the Norwegian displayed there is something else to his game besides objectives with an eminent touch that set De Bruyne away to twist the initial objective past Aaron Ramsdale after only seven minutes.

Arsenal were fortunate not to be blown away before halftime because they never recovered from that nightmare start.

After being let loose in behind by Haaland, De Bruyne was denied an almost identical second goal by Ben White's last-ditch block.

The towering 22-year-old made a hat trick of saves for Ramsdale, who kept Arsenal in the game and Haaland at bay. Be that as it may, there was no respite when John Stones headed in De Bruyne's free-kick in first-half stoppage time and a VAR survey pronounced the Britain protector was onside.

When the City striker galloped cleanly through from Ederson's long ball after the break, Ramsdale continued to win his battle with Haaland.

But Arsenal lost the game when, in the 55th minute, Haaland set up De Bruyne again for a nutmeg on Rob Holding that put the ball in the bottom corner. Holding has been the substitute for Arms stockpile's protective misfortunes lately as he has attempted to supplant the harmed William Saliba.

Arteta's men have now surrendered multiple times in their last four games and face a gigantic test to bring themselves up in the last a long time of the mission to keep any kind of strain on City.

With Holding's unlikely goal four minutes from time, Arsenal at least scored. The center back smashed the ball home. In any case, regardless of whether there is a Weapons store reaction, City look imperious as they close in on a third sequential Head Association title, yet at the same a high pitch.

The former Gunners defender was dissatisfied with the manner in which Rob Holding and the rest of the Gunners' backline attempted to deal with Haaland, as evidenced by his contribution to Kevin De Bruyne's early goal on Wednesday night.

He told BT Sport, "Haaland would be all I was thinking about if I was playing."

"Holding lost that fight. They concede the first goal at the very first challenge.

"You have to put down your marker, you have to be physical, and maybe you should take a booking. However, Haaland is simply swaggering around that pitch and it looked truly simple now and again.

"That is something these youthful Munititions stockpile safeguards must endlessly advance rapidly."

Rio Ferdinand, in like manner, was discontent with how tentative Stockpile were in safeguarding in their title-race confrontation.

He stated, "That aggressive nature is the engine and foundation of this performance."

That was an area in which Arsenal lacked today. They failed to win their first balls because they were not as aggressive. You are penalized.

"It doesn't matter what league you're in or where you're playing; if you don't have that aggressive first contact or intensity in your game, you won't get over the line and get the three points," says the coach. "I don't care how good you are talent-wise."
