recovering following 'serious bacterial infection

By Phoenix Daily ConspiraciesPublished 12 months ago 3 min read

The 64-year-old celebrity is currently recuperating at home after spending several days in critical care.

Madonna's greatest hits span several decades - including Into The Groove (1985), Like A Prayer (1989), to Vogue (1990) and Hung Up (2005) to name a few.

It is likely that Madonna - who is intensely private about health matters - was in the final stages of a rehearsal regime in preparation for the tour.

In 2009, she was awarded a Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing music tour by a female artist after completing her Sticky & Sweet Tour.

American magazine as the 45th richest self-made woman in the US with an estimated wealth of $580m (£460m) and says she has earned an estimated $1.2bn from tours.

She has six children. Last week, she posted to her 18.9m Instagram followers to congratulate her twin 10-year-old daughters for completing elementary school.

Madonna Louise Ciccone grew up in the city of Detroit, Michigan. In 1978, she moved to New York to pursue a career in dance and music.

Earlier this year, her older brother Anthony Ciccone died aged 66 after struggling with alcoholism and homelessness.

The initial cause of Madonna's bacterial illness is unknown, but doctors say it developed into a very dangerous condition that required treatment in an intensive care unit.

Blood poisoning, often known as sepsis, is a potentially fatal illness that can result from infections.

When the body experiences an excessive response to the illness, a medical emergency occurs.

Without the proper care, it can result in organ failure, tissue damage, and even death.

The lungs, skin, urinary system, or digestive tract are the most common places where the initial infection that causes these episodes begins.

Anyone with an infection can get sepsis, although it is more common in people who are already weak, susceptible, or ill.

She was forced to cancel all upcoming engagements owing to the unanticipated sickness, including The Celebration globe tour, which was scheduled to begin next month.

In a statement shared on social media on Wednesday, Madonna's manager Guy Oseary said: "On Saturday, June 24, Madonna got a serious bacterial infection that necessitated a few days in the intensive care unit.

Although her health is getting better, she is still receiving medical attention. An complete recovery is anticipated.

"At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

"We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

Following the revelation, Rita Wilson, Zooey Deschanel, and Isla Fisher were among the celebrities to wish the artist luck on social media.

Well wishes have come for the singer from The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, who said he was "sending prayers" and from Desperately Seeking Susan co-star Rosanna Arquette, who wrote that she was sending "love and good light vibrations" for recovery.

Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie also sent good wishes, along with Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, singer and songwriter Ryan Tedder, musician Jon Batiste, blogger Perez Hilton and model and actress Amber Valetta.

Ru Paul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage added: "Take good care of our queen", whilst Wedding Crashers star Isla Fisher added: "Sending her so much love".

Rita Wilson, the producer, actress and singer, also wrote: "Sending Madonna my prayers for a speedy recovery".

The star was scheduled to begin The Celebration globe tour on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, and visit the UK in October.

Madonna's most recent tour for her Madame X performances ran from September 2019 through March 2020. However, due to "doctors' orders" and "overwhelming pain," she was forced to postpone a number of the run's dates.

She claimed to have been "plagued" with knee and hip ailments ever since the tour began, and at the time, she was photographed using a cane and wearing knee braces.

One of the shows on the Madame X tour that was cancelled was the opening performance in London, to which the diva responded, "I must always listen to my body and put my health first."

The singer referred to the cancellation of gigs as "a kind of punishment for me" when the final two dates of the tour were eventually postponed due to COVID.
