Indian Government launched Mera Ration App : How to Download and Use Ration app

The Government of India has launched a mobile app called 'Mera Ration App' in India, for ration card holders, in which the needy such as poor families have their own status in ration card along with the nearest Fair Price Shop and the facilities available to ration card holders. The Mera Ration mobile app has been launched for Android Smartphones, so users can download it from the Google Play Store. Moving towards the One Nation-One Ration Card initiative, the 'Mera Ration' mobile app has been introduced. If the ration card holders change their place of residence and move to a new place, then they can also see on their mobile where the fair price shop is nearby and what facilities are being provided there. According to government data, 69 crore people across the country are taking advantage of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and they are getting a lot of benefits in it.

Soon available in 14 languages:

If I give details of National Food Security Act (NFSA), the ration card holders who avail of this act, get grain from the public distribution system (PDS) at just Rs. 1 to 3 rupees per kilogram. This facility is raising crores of people from 32 states and union territories. Now it will be easier for me through my ration app. At present, information has been provided in Hindi and English in this app, but soon efforts are on to make it available in 14 major languages, so that people in major parts of the country can get to know fully about the ration card and the benefits available on it.

Key Features:

•The migrant beneficiaries will be able to register their migration details through the mobile app.

•The beneficiaries can register themselves before starting their journey and the system will automatically allocate the entitled foodgrains.

•The NFSA beneficiaries will be able to use the app to identify the nearest FPS and check details of their foodgrains entitlement and the previous six-month transactions and status of Aadhaar seeding.

•Through the app, the beneficiary will know what he is entitled to and he need not ask FPS dealer how much he would get.

•The beneficiaries can login into the app using their Aadhaar or ration card number.

Mera Ration Card app download:

The Mera Ration app is currently only available for the Android platform and one can easily download it by going to Google Play Store and searching "Mera Ration Card app". The app developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is currently available in English and Hindi language. However, the government has also said that soon the app will have more language options (14 different languages) based on places where migrants mostly move to.

Easy to Download and Use?

1.Before you download the application, make sure your ration card is active by going to the official website of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department of the state in which you have availed the ration card.

2.Head to Google Play Store and search Mera Ration Card app.

3.Download the Mera Ration app.

4.Now, open the app on your mobile and register your ration card.

5.To register you, all you need to do is tap on the Registration option, and enter your ration. card number and press "Submit".

6.Users can also check their entitlement by tapping on the "Know your entitlement option" by entering their ration card or Aadhaar card number.

7.The app also allows checking ONORC eligibility. You can check the details by selecting the Eligibility Criteria and providing the necessary information.
