February 5, the fifth day of the Lunar New year, commonly known as "broken five". On this day, the Chinese short-track speed skating team participated in the mixed team relay competition in short-track speed skating and was a strong competitor for the gold medal in this event.
Late on the night of February 4, just after the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Xinhua News Agency Beijing Branch reporter Ju Huanzong, the coordinator of the Xinhua News Agency short-track speed skating and figure skating photography reporting team, arranged the first gold report of the Chinese team the next day. This is a very meticulous and thoughtful shooting plan: personnel placement, Chinese list of participants, bus schedule and so on.
After reading it, I sincerely lamented his working attitude and professionalism. A few months ago, the first gold medal of the Tokyo Olympic Games fell on the Chinese team, and Ju Huanzong took a wonderful picture of Yang Qian, the first gold medalist.
As members of the International Olympic Photography team (IOPP) and the National Olympic Photography team (NOPP), we have invested a lot of troops in the photographic report on China's first gold medal in short track speed skating: lan Hongguang, the author of the "unique film" of Wu Dajing of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games, the experienced Wang Yuguo and Li Gazhen guarding the finish line, and Chen Jianli, the "old photography gun" in the stands, and Cao can in the infield were in charge of shooting and shooting. Xu Zijian is responsible for the control of the high-altitude remote control robot, Xiong Qi and Li Yibo perform their respective duties, and Ju Huanzong is responsible for shooting the infield and the award ceremony. Such a strong lineup gives people enough confidence to face the gold medal war.
After tidying up the equipment at noon, I fell asleep on the sofa after sleeping for less than 4 hours the first night. In a daze, as if the subconscious is constantly waking me up. When I opened my eyes, I saw that it was 04:30 in the afternoon. It's broken. I'm going to miss the bus. I picked up the prepared equipment and trotted downstairs to wait for the bus. When we met Wang Yuguo, we talked about the possible pictures of our respective responsible spots, while we rushed to change to the bus to the Capital Gymnasium at the main Media Center (MMC). Many reporters on the bus went to cover the game.
When I drove to the Capital Gymnasium, I saw more reporters already on the scene. Cao can, who had already arrived, met me and said that there was no room for photography at the right end, but Ju Huanzong grabbed a place for me in the grandstand. After a while, Ju Huanzong came and immediately took me to see the position, which was in the middle and high position on the right side of the grandstand on the finish line, which was very good.
In this game, I have prepared two fuselages, one each for 400mm lens, 70-200mm lens and 24-70mm lens.
In front of the women's 500m preliminaries and men's 1000 m heats just practice, familiar with the point, familiar with the scene, in mind to design a good shooting time and angle. When I put myself into shooting, all kinds of distractions and uneasiness suddenly disappeared.
The eye-catching Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games short track speed skating event mixed team relay competition began. In the semi-finals, the Chinese team in the second group failed to make it into the top two. However, after a long wait, the referee decided that the athletes of the Russian Olympic Committee blocked China's handover route, while the United States was also found to have fouled, and China and Hungary advanced to the final.
At the beginning of the final, the Chinese team was not in the lead. After several rounds of handover, the Chinese team broke out, the members of Hungary and Canada fell, and the Chinese team took the lead all the way. Wu Dajing crossed the finish line with the last stroke, and my shutter moved with him. I rushed to the line, waved my arms and shouted, echoed with the coach. The sound of the shutter went on and on, like the sound of firecrackers during the festival, and a few seconds later I sent the picture back to the editorial department.
The Chinese short track speed skating team won the first gold medal of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2 minutes 37.348 seconds after a battle to win gold medals. This is also the first gold medal in the Olympic history of this new event.
At the end of the post, I squeezed on the bus back to the main media center and flipped through the pictures of the Chinese team winning the gold medal broadcast by the head office on my mobile phone. At this time, colleagues who did not have a shoot-and-pass task continued to collate and distribute manuscripts in the venue, and the editors at the rear laboriously selected photos, edited text, and standardized instructions from a vast library of pictures.
We are the national photography team, all of them are excellent soldiers, and all of us are shining members of the team. our overall sense of the situation and the spirit of cooperation are not only reflected in the picture that can be seen in each picture, but also deeply engraved into the invisible moment of each picture.
If it hadn't been for so many strong colleagues at the scene, I wouldn't have calmly observed the details of the shooting. I would have been nervous and might have made mistakes. If my colleagues hadn't grabbed the spot for me in advance, I wouldn't have caught the photos from those angles.
I know very well that when the colleagues around you are supporting you with invisible hands, giving you confidence and giving you strength, we are not afraid of risks. This is the strength of the team. As one of them, I am proud of my colleagues and myself: we are IOPP, we are NOPP, we are the national photography team.
At 2: 00 p. M., as soon as I finished writing this article, the mobile phone prompt came. When I opened it, it was a message from Cao can, another coordinator of the short track speed skating and figure skating photography team, that the traffic had been arranged early in the morning. He'd been just 18 when a terrible choice with some unacceptable group landed him in prison, and presently he was at long last being delivered. During the trial, Diane had been present and had to put up with lawyers who had told her that he would "bounce back." However, the truth was more extreme. She was aware that his time in prison had taken its toll and that he had lost some of his spirit with each passing day. Presently, with just 53 seconds to go, Diane's heart hustled quicker. He had a sharper edge to him than she remembered, and he was thinner than she remembered. However, it was her Ben—him. She pushed open the vehicle entryway, not thinking often about the ticking clock or the motor actually running. She barely noticed that the rain had soaked her hair and clothes. Ben moved cautiously forward, followed by another. Each step was loaded up with vulnerability, like he was trying the ground underneath him. As she watched him approach, Diane felt her heart pound. "Mom?" he said, his voice speculative and loaded up with doubt. She didn't pause. She surged toward him, her arms outstretched, prepared to close the hole between them.
