Almost 20 years ago there weren’t any smartphones. In 1992 the American technology company (INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINE CORP.) invented Smartphones which have totally changed our lives. Now, we can’t even remember the last time we didn’t use our smartphones for a whole day. Other than when the government decides to shut down all networks. Mobile internet and mobile phones are changing the way we do things and has changed the way we connect with and to people.

Almost 40% of the population are using the internet, that’s 3.2 billion of our people. The use of mobile data has grown more than exponentially in the last 5 years.

A recent study has revealed that an average person spends 90 minutes a day on their phone. That figure may not sound like a lot but that amounts up to 23 days a year and 3.9 years of an average person’s life that is spent staring at their phone screens. Out of 1.9 million apps that can be found on Google Play store and 1.6 million on the Apple App Store. The average user installs 36% apps but uses only 26% of the apps.

1% of the people say that smartphones are very important in their life and 61% say that it is even more important than their coffee and 96% of the people, aged 18-24, say that their smartphone is very important and 93% say it is more important that their deodorant and 93 % more than their toothbrush.
