You've read the article about how cell phones affect your fertility. Well, it would be natural to assume that cell phones are the only devices that can hurt your husband's fertility. The truth is, there a number of things you can avoid doing to ensure maximum sperm quality and production.

The evidence is still being studied

There is no conclusive evidence that electronics affect fertility. The evidence is still being studied, but there are some things you can do to protect your sperm count from the effects of modern technology. Protecting your fertility from gadgets The research on the effect of electronics on sperm health is still in its early stages.

But there's some evidence that electronic devices can affect sperm quality — and even cause infertility — in some men: A study by Dr. Yitzchak Maimon from Israel's Rambam Medical Center found that high-intensity electromagnetic fields (EMFs) caused damage to the DNA of sperm in rats. The rats were exposed to EMFs for eight hours a day over two weeks; they then had their semen samples tested and found that their levels of circulating reactive oxygen species (ROS) had increased by more than 50 percent, compared to those exposed to lower levels of EMFs or no EMFs at all.

ROS are highly unstable molecules that can damage cells, causing them to age prematurely; they're also believed to cause cancer. In addition, the rats exposed to high levels of EMFs showed reduced numbers of motile sperm compared with those who weren't exposed at all or only slightly so.

Doctors know that the use of certain gadgets by men can definitely lower fertility in some cases.

There are some gadgets that can definitely affect fertility in men. Doctors know that the use of certain gadgets by men can definitely lower fertility in some cases. Gadgets like mobile phones and laptops can give off a lot of electromagnetic radiation, which can affect sperm production. A study done by Dr.

De-Kun Li at the Kaiser Permanente Research Center found that male infertility had increased by 50% in only 30 years. The study showed that there was a correlation between the rise in infertility and the amount of time spent on the phone or computer. The study also found that men who spend more than four hours per day on their smartphones have lower sperm counts than those who spend less time on their smartphones.

How the gadgets could hurt your chances of getting pregnant is unknown.

Can gadgets affect fertility? There's no evidence that the electromagnetic radiation emitted by gadgets could hurt your chances of getting pregnant, but it's possible. The effect of the radiation on sperm and eggs is unknown. But there are some things you can do to reduce your exposure to such radiation.

You can: Turn off Wi-Fi when you're not using it or when you're sleeping. Limit your use of cellphones and cordless phones, including hands-free devices. Keep cellphones away from your body while they're on, especially when they're sending or receiving a signal (like when you're on a call). Keep them at least 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) away from your body when they aren't on, especially during sleep.

If you must use a cellphone while it's on, keep it as far away from your bed as possible when sleeping or keep it in airplane mode (which turns off all transmission functions).

Some doctors say women may be able to get pregnant if their male partner stops using a device for a period of time.

There's no evidence that gadgets are affecting your fertility, but some doctors say women may be able to get pregnant if their male partner stops using a device for a period of time. Dr. Anirban Maitra, a reproductive endocrinologist at Columbia University Medical Center, said there is no evidence that gadgets are affecting male fertility.

But he has seen cases where men who use laptops or tablets have reduced sperm counts and poor sperm quality. "We haven't done enough studies yet to show that something like an iPad can affect a man's sperm," Maitra said. "But there are some studies showing that the testicles can heat up when you're on the laptop or tablet." Maitra recommends that men who want to have children avoid using machines where they have to sit for long periods of time — especially laptops — because of the heat they generate around the scrotum area, which is responsible for producing sperm cells.

All in All...

Nowadays we use our gadgets almost 24/7. We look at them while we eat, while we read, while we exercise, while we sleep, and even while we drive. Is it possible that something wrong is happening? Being so close to your gadgets could affect your health in a variety of ways.

And surely the electromagnetic frequencies can have some kind of bad influence on our bodies and reproductive system.
