Weathering the Storms

Stealing From Myself

Somewhere, between the urge to fade away

And the instinct to live to see the dawn

There lies a place where my mind goes astray

And rides a tempest it alone could spawn

With fetters broken, it's a merry ride

A wild excursion through what life could be

If something along the way had turned the tide

And opened different doors for you and me

Perhaps I would have sold a million books

Maybe I'd still be working nine to five

I view my life from different overlooks

And in each view, our love is still alive

My mind's wanderings may not be needed

But the messages will be well heeded
