We Are the Last Generation That Remembers This …
A quiet goodbye to the world we grew up in… and the one we lost without noticing.

We are the last generation that remembers this.
“Not perfectly.
Not always clearly.
But somewhere deep inside us… we remember.”
We remember when happiness didn’t come from a glowing screen,
but from scraped knees, dusty shoes, and laughter that echoed through empty streets.
We remember friendships that didn’t need passwords or profiles,
just a simple knock on the door and a voice calling out,
“Come out, let’s play.”
We remember when time moved slower.
When evenings felt longer.
When sunsets weren’t something to capture,
but something to sit with.
We remember writing things down.
Not to impress anyone.
Not for likes or shares.
But because we had something real to say.
We remember when silence wasn’t uncomfortable.
When being alone didn’t mean being lonely.
When thoughts had space to breathe.
And now?
Now we live in a world where everything is faster,
but nothing feels deeper.
We scroll endlessly,
searching for something we can’t even name.
We talk more than ever,
yet understand each other less.
We are connected to hundreds,
but feel seen by none.
And somewhere along the way…
without realizing it…
we traded presence for distraction.
Maybe the world didn’t change overnight.
Maybe it changed quietly,
in small, unnoticed moments,
each time we chose convenience over connection.
And maybe…
we were too busy growing up
to realize what we were leaving behind.
The scariest part isn’t that things have changed.
It’s that one day,
no one will even remember
that it was ever different.
And we…
we might be the last ones
who do.
Maybe that’s why we write.
To hold onto moments the world is slowly forgetting.
To preserve feelings that no algorithm can replace.
Because somewhere deep inside…
we’re not just writers.
We are the last witnesses of a fading world.
