You grow up believing family comes first, but home always feels like you’re walking on eggshells.

They call themselves your biggest supporters, but even the smallest things you trusted them with end up coming back in the next argument.

Staying quiet doesn’t help either. Even your silence gets treated like disrespect.

They tell you everything comes from love. Somehow it still leaves you carrying wounds they refuse to see.

You learn to watch every word before it leaves your mouth, and somehow it’s still the wrong thing to say.

They put on a warm and loving face for guests, but the moment they’re gone, it’s like someone flipped a switch.

Every night you go to bed hoping tomorrow won’t turn into another argument over something small.

You used to think peace meant saving the family, but real peace was choosing to save yourself.

Then you finally pack your things and move into your own place, but their guilt trips still ring through your phone.

Still, the guilt of pulling away from your own blood never fully goes away, but staying in that house was slowly destroying you.
