Vocal Update's Recovery Status

Is it just me, or have we not fully recovered from the Vocal updates?

I don’t know exactly what changed, but before the major Vocal overhaul, I felt like I had finally hit my stride here. I was getting consistent reads on newly published work, winning Top Stories, and placing as at least an honorable mention or runner-up in challenges. I will win one someday, damn it! 😅

Since the overhaul, though, it feels like all that momentum has stalled.

Which sucks, because I was midway through one series, participating in rogue or unofficial challenges, and beginning another series. Now, they all seem to disappear into the “no one is reading this” bin.

It’s especially frustrating because I believe this is some of my best work and the clearest representation of my voice. I finally feel like I’ve hit my writing stride, only to discover I may be just adding to what is becoming a private portfolio of work.

Has anyone else had this experience since last week, or am I simply succumbing to “Why won’t anyone look at me?” syndrome?
