The "Studdering" Hobo

Tells His Tales

By Shirley BelkPublished a day ago • 1 min read
1935 movie

There was once this "Studdering" Hobo that came to our sleepy old town back in the day...

I promise you it's a true story because there's real documentation, they say!

He told wild stories of the Hollywood stars he'd seen while riding out West by the hobo-train

His stories were better and more colorful than any magazine from that era could ever explain.

I'm pretty sure you're too young to remember Tom Mix and so am I, but here goes.

The original of the Cowboys on screen...behind the screens (a scoundrel the like of which, who knows?)

And he also told of the strong, silent man-type man who made the girls swoon called Gary or Super-Duper

while "Putting on the Ritz," the band played his name, and his style was all Cooper

But he gave us a laugh when he talked about the Original Queen of Vaudeville, Mae West

Did he expect us to believe she'd invited him to her room or was that said just in jest?
