The Other Side of Love
"Love that appears sweet on the outside, but hides a painful, dark side."

I always thought love was simple—two people choosing each other, every single day. With him, I felt safe, cherished, and seen. His smile was my comfort, his words my lullaby. I never imagined that behind the warmth of his arms, another woman’s name was lighting up his phone. Love, it seems, had layers I wasn't ready to face.
It wasn't the betrayal that shattered me most—it was the effort he made to keep pretending. The gentle kisses, the spontaneous laughter, the way he held my hand in public like nothing was wrong. I kept wondering if any of it was real. And maybe that’s the cruelest part: that I’ll never know which parts were true, and which were just a performance for a story he no longer believed in.
I’ve learned that sometimes, the person you love the most can be the one who teaches you what love isn’t. It's not secrecy. It’s not double lives. Love doesn’t hurt in silence while pretending to smile. And though my heart aches, I’m beginning to see the truth—real love shouldn’t feel like you're competing with ghosts hidden in someone else's messages.
