Author's Note: The photo is what the title, "Talking hearts couples" brought up on unsplash. First thing is we do not look like the couple above! I would have to pay the hubby to wear a bowtie, and I can't imagine he has ever worn one except for as a baby, and then he wouldn't leave it on for long.

Next, the guy in the photo looks a bit high. My hubby has 35 years of no drugs or alcohol. Then I am not petite, blond, or would I wear that dress. I like all shades of purple though. And finally, we are probably 40 plus years older than that couple. Seventy-two and seventy-six.

John: I guess it would be to learn to communicate better.

Denise: My level of exercise and weight loss.

Tagline for the week

John: Busy, busy week!
Denise: Because you have to take your car into the shop tomorrow, and your Ryker in on Thursday?
John: Yes. Along with all the other jobs I have set up for this week.

Denise: I like the tagline of Moving From Summer to Fall, because first we noticed how early it is getting dark, then we noticed the leaves beginning to turn color, from green to orange and red.

Then maybe a tagline of Serious Edit of My Book. I want to spend hours working on editing this week, and to send the edits to the editor I'm working with and schedule another editor phone session.

John: I got sober!

Denise: When I agreed to attend a master's program and a doctoral program in education. Granted I didn't finish the doctoral program, but I graduated with a Master of Science in Education, and an All but dissertation in Education Policy and Administration. No regrets!

Favorite recess game and why?

John: Tag, because I'm as fast as a blast!

Denise: I liked hopscotch, because it was fun to learn and to get good at it.

What do you think we're struggling with the most in our relationship?

Time freezes for everyone but us for one day. What would we do?

Struggling with most in our relationship

John: I don't know (long pause). Well, probably old age, because we are not as active as we used to be.

Denise: I have to agree. But do you think it is more me than you?
John: No, it is me too. I've slowed way down too.

Denise: I also want to say that politics is still in the way and will be until the current administration is out of office. I know you would like to pretend that is all over, but it's not for me. I don't expect anything to change with that issue.

Time is frozen for everyone but us. What would we do

John: Have sex! (both chuckle) No idea. I don't see what we would gain. We would probably do the same things we do now! We might be together more so then we might have more sex? (coming from a 76-year-old man to a 72-year-old woman.)
Denise: Hey, we are just lucky we can have sex as often as we do, many couples I know are no longer having sex. Impotence in one or the other or both.

Denise: Maybe pick up a couple people and drop them off at a treatment program, far enough from home that they would have trouble leaving or going home. (John shaking his head in agreement.) That is our co-dependency showing up, Honey Bunny!
