My First Book – A Little Journey from Writer to Becoming an Author
‎I have published my first book, and it gives me immense happiness to write this and share it with you. A year and a half ago, I had never thought about such a task—writing a book? An entire story, shaping my thoughts, imagination, and emotions into words? At that time, I wasn’t even a witness to these things. But as I began to write, I discovered myself as a writer, and it was wonderful. Even now, this journey is moving forward amazingly. ‎ ‎I never imagined that I would write like this, that this would become my language. That I would be able to harmonize with words and play with them. Until the age of 16–17, this never surfaced in any form. I would have a home built from my own words, shining upon the pages, this thought was far, far beyond even my imagination and dreams. ‎ ‎ Recognizing myself as a writer, yet somehow, it happened. And today, I can call myself the author of a book. That feels truly remarkable. ‎ ‎After writing some poems and short stories, I finally published my book. The whole process was immensely enjoyable, though at times it felt tiring and even boring. But today, it exists as a published book, and it stands as one of the best and creative works I have done this year. ‎

Why Writers Fall in Love With Their Characters
“They’re fictional. I know. And yet — I’d die for them.” Writers get it. Or maybe we don’t, and that’s why we’re so emotionally attached to people who exist solely in our heads. I’ve cried over my characters. I’ve argued with them, obsessed over them, rooted for them like they were my own chaotic children. And yes — I’ve had full-on crushes on them.

Magical Creatures Without the Clichés
“If I see one more sassy talking cat or a dragon with daddy issues, I might scream.” Let’s be honest: magical creatures are part of what makes fantasy sparkle. They lift us out of the ordinary and into the wondrous. But all too often, they also fall into painfully predictable tropes. You know the ones. The wise old centaur. The rebellious fae prince. The brooding werewolf with a soft side. Yawn.

How to Write Descriptions That Don’t Bore Readers
“Don’t just describe the room — make me feel like I’ve stepped inside it.” We’ve all read that one book (or three) where the descriptions feel like someone hit pause on the story to give you a furniture catalogue. And look — I get it. Description is hard. You want to paint a vivid picture, but not drown your reader in a sea of adjectives. So, how do you write description that actually enhances the story, rather than dragging it down?

Hanging out with Galatea
Publishing with Galatea? Let's talk. Galatea is the publishing division for Inkitt. That's a free writing site where you can post and read for free. If you've been there lately, it might be because you like reading books about alpha males, werewolf dudes that mate for life, or billionaires who fall in love with insignificant women and then shower them with riches like Aladdin's genie.

How Generative AI Could Help Transform South African Policing
Introduction: A Crisis of Trust South African policing faces a deep crisis of legitimacy. Too often, communities experience officers not as protectors, but as enforcers of arrogance, superiority, and disrespect. The gap is not simply one of crime control, but of broken relationships of power, communication, and empathy. When police are feared more than they are trusted, democracy itself is weakened.

Hi guys, It has been a while since I completed one of these card prompts. This post series has been inspired by Denise E Lindquist. I never would have known about this deck of cards if it wasn't for her. So thank you Denise for sharing this lovely deck of cards with all of us on Vocal. I definitely have been putting this card off.

Trust isn't just about money
Even though the interests of people are always of the utmost priority in the business sector, there is sometimes a master-slave connection between the owners of firms and the personnel that they hire. This is the case even though the interests of people are always of the first significance. To phrase it another way, the only thing that interests them is earning monetary compensation for their actions. The workers in question, irrespective of whether they hold white-collar or blue-collar roles, other categories of workers, etc.

The Empty Chair
In a bustling town, there was a small café where an old man sat every morning at the same table by the window. Beside him was always an empty chair. People often wondered why he never let anyone sit there.

Why Do I Feel Lonely In A Crowd?
While I was scrolling through a social media app, my attention was caught by a video of someone talking about a deep meaning, saying, “The most intense form of loneliness is the loneliness in the crowd.”

Zipho Memela Shares why Blogging Still Beats Social Media for Building Real Wealth in 2025. Content Warning. AI-Generated.
Here’s a statistic that caught my attention recently: 600 million active blogs exist today, yet only 14% of bloggers create content longer than 2,000 words. This gap represents a massive opportunity for anyone serious about building sustainable online income.
