The Stand is one of my favourite books, by one of my favourite authors.

It's a biiig book, which I love. Something you can really sink your teeth into and get lost in for a good long while.

Stephen King is possibly my favourite author, although these things change depending on my mood on the day you ask me.

My favourite King work is The Dark Tower series. It's not perfect, but it's still incredible. I'm currently doing a reread of it. (I generally try not to reread books a lot, because I figure there are so many books out there that I haven't read yet, that it's a better use of my time to read fresh books rather than reread)

As I reread it, I'm following along with The Kingslingers podcast. They have done an amazing deep dive into the series and it's honestly just making me love it all the more.

I'm taking this reread very slow. Basically, every time I finish a book, I allow myself a segment of The Dark Tower and a podcast episode. I've been on this journey to the tower for about two years now, and I'm about halfway though book four (of seven), so it will take me a couple more years to finish, and that's fine with me.

One of the things I love so much about the series is all the connections to King's other books. Essentially, everything King has ever done has some link back to the Tower.

Once I complete this journey, I'll be rereading a lot of other King books and listening to the accompanying podcasts. It's really cool to come across creators who love something just as much, or maybe even more, than you do and you can just geek out over.

And if anyone has any book recommendations feel free to drop them in the comments. My TBR list is only 300 items long, so there's plenty of room for more still!
