Here I am reporting some of my reading projects from over the past weeks. I hope you enjoy and maybe find some reads for yourself. Some are romances, some are thrillers, some are mysteries, etc.

The first in the list is first a question 'Who hasn't read Nicholas Sparks?' Male or female there is always something to learn in dealing with various kinds of relationships that we encounter in our lives. In 'Every Breath' a novel is one that covers how the choices we make can affect our lives and the character of Tru will experience many in this story. 'Every Breath' mentions a certain location that really does exist in real life where one can place various materials in hopes that someone will read and know that the sender existed at some time in living life.

Anthony Crowell has written a historical fiction novel entitled 'Anne Boleyn' the story of one of King George's wives and how she became one. It could be a read that teaches one that the choices you make just may be the ones that affect your life in very significant and meaningful ways. Anne learns many lessons about herself or did she.

Who has read 'The Origin of the Species' by Charles Darwin. This is an academic book that in some ways and aspects reads, believe it or not, like a novel of sorts. To me there were a few areas that reminded me of creation, but Darwin states this is not a book about creationism, but a detailed account of how living beings were 'created' by natural selection depending on geography, instinct, variation, nature and the struggle to exist. To me this is a book of social science.

********

Fern Michaels has written a family novel that is also a romance story of Myra and Charles and the various choices that they have made and will make and how those choices affected them as a couple and as a family. 'Game Over' is a fun and quick read for the summer with lessons to learn about the various lessons that these two will learn.

********

'The Kiss' a novel by James Patterson and Jill Dembowski is also a part of the Witch and Wizard series. This is the story of Wisty and Whit who are witch and wizard and how they combat the evil of The One. It's a battle of white magic over black magic. 'The Kiss' is a book of action and magic and James and Jill with their words makes this a visual read especially for a summer read.

*******

Here is another somewhat academic book entitled 'Republic' by Plato that to me covers the basics of how government is formed as well as the writing of a constitution. The whole text is written as a conversation between a teacher and his student that are discussing the various topics in the formation of a living document.

*********

Sue Tabashnik has written a fan book biography of and for Patrick Swayze who is a favorite actor of movies. This is a book that shares her experiences of meeting him in all of his many areas of actor, dancer and writer.

********

'You Were Made to be Mine' is a part of the series The Palace of Rogues by Julie Anne Long. It is a romance novel about a woman by the name of Aurelia Capet and the crime she has committed along with her stay at the Grand Palace on the Thames and the people who stay there for one reason or another. Julie writes a story that pulls you in with a doorbell ring and a knock on a door. This is a story of love and friendship shown in many ways.

*******

Catherine Coulter has written 'Midnight Star' a total romance story about a woman by the name of 'Chauncey'-a nickname. She will turn hate into love for one special person. She has a few obstacles to overcome first. It's a novel that will take you back in history as well and see that things in a way seem to always seem to stay the same as when you meet the right person whether right or wrong in various situations whether in the past or the present and maybe into the future.

********

We all seem to want to lose weight somehow, so Kathleen DesMaisons, PhD has written a diet/nutrition book titled 'Your Last Diet!" This is a book that shares how sugar affects one's body, mind and soul. It covers how we can find our radiance to a better way of living. To me it is an academic chapter book that should be read one chapter at a time while working through the steps to see how your body works with all the body systems from the (endocrine, digestive and the circulatory/respiratory) working together.

********

I was ready for some really quick reads, so I read some Love Inspired novels that are from Harlequin romances. The books that I read were ones that had two novels in one book. The first was from Lenora Worth titled 'Something Beautiful' and 'Lacey's Retreat'. These two novels are related in some facets. 'Something Beautiful' is the story of Lucas Dorsette and how he copes with loss till he finds his 'One' along with getting along with siblings and other friends. He believes that there is a higher power.

In 'Lacey's Retreat' this is the story of Lacey Dorsette and how she learns to love again while helping a total stranger in a dangerous situation. Lacey also has to deal with her siblings as well like Lucas.

In a totally separate book written by Lois Richer 'A Ring and a Promise' finds Abby Franklin having to make various kinds of decisions that affect her and a man named Donavan and a little girl named Ariane all when she starts a new job at Weddings by Woodward.

There are many ups and downs in all these novels, but isn't that to be expected in the romance world.
