Prompts Ignored…

Why? I don’t think they are a fit for me, but maybe for you?

Prompts I write about.. And… if the ones I don’t and if they were so good that I couldn’t ignore them, I wouldn’t be writing this!

Right here, right now, I will tell you two of the most recent of them. At first, in writing prompts, I didn’t miss a one. Now, I have written enough from the authors I am writing prompts from, that I know whether the prompt fits.

One that I just passed by last time is 104 of Gregory Stock, The Book of Questions, prompts. Here is 104 — Would you be willing to give up sex for 5 years if you could have wonderfully sensual and erotic dreams any night you wished?

My oh my. Now, why wouldn’t this prompt be a fit for me? It is because it would be too short. It is just that simple. I have no trouble writing about or talking about sex. Not porn. I may be wealthy if that were a genre I wanted to write about. JK! I think the question is simple to answer. Dreams and physical intimacy are two different things, and I prefer the intimacy!

Please. And who wants to hear about this topic from a 71-year-old anyway?

Time to move on, before this story becomes about prompt 104.

Prompts that I have missed lately from Natalie Goldberg

Really anytime, I can’t find one that I have missed from anyone.

Other than Gregory Stock, and that is okay with me.

Maybe it is because I can relate better to women?

Please, don’t misunderstand, see

The prompts from women are more familiar and newer

Prompt 101 — An eccentric millionaire offers to donate a large sum to charity if you will step — completely naked — from a car onto a busy downtown street, walk four blocks, and climb back into the car. Knowing that there would be no danger of physical abuse, would you do it?

Right then, I would know it was a joke or a prank, and no way would I consider such a request for anything.

Of course, there is a 101+ — In terms of their relative unpleasantness, how would you rank the following: a nude stroll in public; being spat upon by a crowd of people; being arrested for shoplifting; begging for money at an airport? What is the most embarrassing thing you can imagine? What bothers you about looking bad in front of strangers?

My comments would be that writing about all of that may be embarrassing, and not only to me but to some others.

Perhaps it is comparable to a class I took in graduate school, where our cohort decided to count the times the professors' lectures brought up sex thoughts for the male students. Similar results from this prompt.

Time to say I am boring and not interested in playing with these prompts.
