A brand new multi-part unofficial challenge from Paul Stewart. Please read and join in the fun.

So, I'm really dragging my heels with completing prizes for the winners of my last challenge. But, please be patient because I am not Rembrandt, Huizenga, Carravagio, Munch or Bosch. I'm not even Andy Warhol. But I am an arsehole.

Anyway,

Wanna have fun while Paul makes art happen for Sasha, Harper and Paul Aaron?

Yes we do, Paul. You know us, almighty leader.

Enough of the leader crap, tho I do appreciate the solemn head tilts

While I learn how to art better and create wonderful pieces for the above people, I am setting a new unofficial challenge. (Vocal, pssst, anytime you wanna run a challenge with yours truly, give me a shout!)

I have a few things I need to work on so I'm going to give you all a nice chunky few weeks to work on your wonderful pieces.

Let's say a month so the fire stays hot and there's a sense of urgency but you don't hate me or ignore my demands because it's simply too short notice.

So it's October 22nd today and from whenever this is published today the time is set and the game is on and you have until (checks calender) oh bang bang November 22nd is the deadline.

Got that?

Good.

But ah hahaha. You are probably wondering and asking and stroking your many chins saying

"Wait a fucking minute, arsehole, you haven't told us what you want us to do!"

Indeed indeed indeed.

Since I'm feeling particularly arseholeish, it's going to be a fun one. I promise. And taking the lead from Italian friend Sasha Desideri, I'm going to make it purposefully convoluted.

So.

It's a multi-part challenge. I love it you would take part in all parts. But, no pressure. Every person gets one entry per part.

Part One - The Writer Bio and Peacock Short Story Unofficial Challenge

Write a 245 word about yourself telling me, especially me, who will be judging you all, some stuff I don't know about you.

Then write a 365 word story, strict word count about a peacock.

Please subtitle it as "for Paul's The Writer Bio and Peacock Short Story Unofficial Challenge" and include a link back to this article in your piece.

Your entry for this part should be published to the Fiction community.

Once published please share a link to it in the comments of this article.

Part Two - The Last Time I Laughed and The Last Time I cried Unofficial Challenge

Write a 245 word piece about the last time you cried.

And

Write a 365 word piece about the last time you laughed.

Please subtitle this as "for Paul's The Last Time I Laughed and The Last Time I cried Unofficial Challenge" and include a link back to this article in your piece.

Your entry for this part should be published to the Humans or Journal community. Whichever you prefer.

Once published, share a link to it in the comments section of this article.

Part Three -My Flaw Poetry Unofficial Challenge

Write me a five line poem about a flaw you have, and don't take a fucking dump on my challenge and chicken out or try to be clever saying "my biggest flaw is I don't have flaws or I have too many"

Be fucking specific or you will be disqualified and I will write a piece all about the disqualified.

(Oh nasty Paul is being an arsehole!)

Please subtitle it as "for Paul's My Flaws Poetry Unofficial Challenge" and provide a link to this article in your piece.

Your entry for this part, as you've probably guessed, should be published to the Poets community.

Once published, share a link to it in the comments of this article.

Part Four - The Critique The Work of Paul Stewart Unofficial Challenge

Choose one of my pieces. Go digging and find one from the past or present, whatever but so some looking and searching and then write a critique of it, be as brutal as you want and honest as you want. I don't care. But don't just say "it's shit." You don't have to take it apart and you don't have to celebrate it like it's the best thing since whatever you read last that you thought was the best thing.

Please include a link to the piece you are critiquing so that people can go read it and compare your notes and so I know what the fuck you are talking about.

Please subtitle this as "for Paul's The Critique The Work of Paul Stewart Unofficial Challenge" and include a link back to this article in your piece.

Your entry for this part, and this is going to shock you, should be published to the Critique community.

Once published, share a link to it in the comments section of this article.

Part Five - The Fellow Vocal Writer Boost Unofficial Challenge

So I don't get blasted for being egotistical and whatnot, the final part is all about community sport and being decent and whatnot. All that jazz.

Write about five of your favourite writers on Vocal (I don't care if you like Colleen Hoover or Dan fucking Brown. Write about them another time.)

I don't want to curb your enthusiasm, but don't want you to feel like you have to write a million words.

Be specific and don't write generic crap.

If you only write one paragraph per person that's fine as long as you are specific

If you choose to write more, that is also okay, and I will read them regardless.

Just remember to be specific and please share a link for each of the writers you are highlighting that  does not have many likes or comments. Give them a boost!

Please subtitle this as "for Paul's The Fellow Vocal Writer Boost Unofficial Challenge" and include a link back to this article in your piece.

Your entry for this part should be published to the Writers community.

Once published, share a link to it in the comments section of this article.

Summary

Read the above. Basically there are five different mini challenges and you are encouraged to put forward one entry for each but are not obligated to take part in any.

Rulebreakers will be disqualified and or persecuted in a separate piece or heralded as kings and queens of writing. It all depends on how I feel at the time.

Prizes.

Art by Paul Stewart. That's me.

  • 1st place - A4 painting or sketch

  • 2nd place - A5 painting or sketch

  • Runnerups - A6 painting or sketch (each)

I shall award for every individual challenge:

  • 1 x 1st place winner

  • 1 x 2nd place

  • 2 x Runnerups

For the people that take part in all five challenges I will award a secondary special prize.

  • 1 x 1st place winner

  • 1 x 2nd place

  • 2 x Runnerups

If I get enough entries across the board.

Obviously everything is down to my own personal judgements, opinions, views, feelings and decisions.

I really am looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Remember, November 22nd is the deadline.

Make sure you get the word out.

(Vocal, remember. Want to co-host a challenge with me, let me know!)

Thank you and I wish you all happy writing!
