Father, why do we condemn a murderer
when we have created a law that will kill him?
What have our actions made us?
I am afraid Father,
What if one day the world requires us;
Kill to live, who should I shoot?
How shall I weigh a man's life?
What if by then I found myself in a dark room
with two people in front of me,
their heads covered with a black bag
too far to reach, can't move my feet
My hands are not tied, should I thank them?
someone's behind
a gun aimed at me
somewhere on my head, clicks
as a clock ticks
..26 ..25 ..24 ..23 ..22 ..21
Am I free?
"We are, I am," they said.
Father, how shall I weigh a man's life?
I know nothing about them,
I see no face but a white board below their feet.
"Female/Pregnant/25"
"Male/Criminal/84"
A part of my head tells me;
shoot for the male. Old he is, he'll no longer live that long
shoot or die! it echoes like the sound click
but no, no! what if he was imprisoned?
a life sentence. What if he was accused wrongly?
Father, will you help me?
the other one then? no, no!
it is not even an option.
Father, help me.
Why am I holding the gun?
Who am I to choose?
Father, take the gun from me.
A life for a life? Shall I take mine?
If I do, will they live?
there's no one to answer
there's no time
clock ticks .. 05 ..04 ..03
an impulse, a life for ours.
"Are we saved?"
I can't move,
I'm shaking.
A man came and freed us,
what was written was true,
both of them smiled
they were grateful, who wouldn't be?
"Come out now", the man said.
I turned around, dead, someone's dead
and I am to blame,
An ache came, I know this one won't leave
blood stained board and a word on his feet;
"Blind"
the man smirked.
Father, what have I done?
Father, how shall I weigh a man's life?
