National Relaxation Day
Mikeydred's August Challenge
On National Relaxation Day, I am home alone and relaxing. I had to do my physical therapy first. I know I should be editing my book so I can finalize it, yet Vocal Challenges calls me. Not relaxing.
Reading outside in the shade of an umbrella is relaxing. For an hour. Then my eyes and brain get tired, and I need to relax in a different way. Two Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups and some coconut water fit the bill. I need potassium, and coconut water provides it. However, I prefer coconut in dark chocolate, you know, like Mounds bars.
Oh no, an email has my attention. It is about excursions for a trip in December. I did the preliminary work last February. Now the friends coming with us are reviewing it all, and we want to coordinate. To reply to their email, I have to log in to my MacBook and use my iPhone together to sort this out. Not relaxing.
The wind chimes are singing in the breeze, and their music can be heard inside where I currently sit and type. Relaxing sounds, mixed with the chirps and songs of birds.
My husband is gone today, golfing in a charity tournament, and that relaxes him (any sport does, whether playing or watching on TV). I find golf boring. I’m not good at it. I’d rather read or write. The quiet house is relaxing. It’s also relaxing to watch shows on television, but during the day, it feels like that is wasting time. Now, with that thought, I’m not relaxed. And I'm guilty about not working on the writing project that requires a lot of work. Not relaxing!
Maybe a walk would help? Have to check the temperature and air quality first, haze is moving in. I'm inside, looking out, not under the umbrella. Thoughts of smoke haze - not relaxing.
Gosh, it is hard to relax. What do you think? What relaxes you?
