My Obit

I know I am not Vocal+, but I wanted to try this challenge.

Here I am waiting at the gates of heaven and overlooking the Earth at all the people who seem to be grieving for me or something else. I, Mark Graham, 106, a writer of sound mind and soul was a writer who tried to teach through his stories, poems and various other pieces of materials that he thought was interesting to share with others.

Mark was born in a small town in Pennsylvania was a slightly above average student through his compulsory education. He was a shy child that would rather read a book, write or draw before going to friends' houses to play or just to talk. While in school he did join the high swimming team for a few seasons before trying out for the choir for a year and he did join a few clubs, and his favorite was YFA -Youth for America Ecology Club. At one time he wanted to work in an office maybe working with numbers and studied the various office skills the school offered from Typing (typewriter, not computer), accounting and even shorthand and a few others along believe it or not with a few advanced courses. Graduating from high school he decided that he wanted to be a teacher for he enjoyed watching starting with his first niece and then a nephew and another niece after a stint in the Navy did not work out. He was a person who really liked college and received a bachelor's degree in education and then working with preschoolers, as a substitute teacher and after two years of this decided to go back to school and get a diploma and become a licensed practical nurse/activity therapist along with another bachelor's degree in human services before moving on to getting a master's and doctoral degrees in curriculum and instruction and reading and literacy as well as graduate certificate in college teaching.

Mark did teach several adult online courses till he decided to become a writer and teach through his words. He was also a book reviewer for several publishing houses and after doing that for several years decided then to become an author various quiz books with all the areas that he has studied in the past and they were quite the hit with the reading public for they are now in their fourth and fifth printings. Mark was also one that loved to color and even sold some of his colorings while at the same time sharing his work when offering his Adult Coloring Workshops. He is hoping that others will continue to read his work well into the future for the proceeds from his books will go to his school to help with its various programs both academically and athletically. Even though he was a quiet person he liked helping people anyway he could from his writing to his online courses that are still being offered in some ways.

He was an avid dog person who had his share of pets and a major collection of vintage books and dog figurines that did offer insights into his writings. He just wanted to help people learn any way they could or wanted. So, when you think of Mark think like a child and have fun in your learning and whatever interests you with whatever you pursue in your life. God loves you and he will lead your way for he did that for Mark for he used everything he learned his entire life. The Lord is always looking over you he knows now.
