Meta’s Next Social Media Move

Meta, Formally Facebook Inc, is a social media platform that was founded 22 years ago. On February 4th 2024, in Cambridge Massachusetts. Founders, Chris Hughes, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg.

Meta, owns several social media platforms including Messenger, WhatsApp, Threads, Manus, Facebook and Instagram. Meta was also ranked one of the world’s largest public companies in 2003 by Forbes global 2000.

You can definitely say this company is a powerhouse. As a publicly traded company that is valued around $577.92 per share, it is also not a cheap company either. It is a company that is destined to win.

And in the year 2026, it’s like a freight train that is not stopping. Mark Zuckerberg and his team are laser focused, with their foot on the pedal, looking straight ahead with a Crystal clear vision.

But what would that vision be, if you may ask? I would say, to be a social media and tech company like no other. Just like Facebook, no one had ever done it like that before. Bringing a social media platform to the worldwide web we're everyone could connect in real time.

Myspace which was also a social media platform existed, and was doing pretty good for a long time. But eventually disappeared not too long after Facebook came along.

Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has definitely been knocking doors down. Because with the different ways and styles, to connect social wise or business wise, it’s enough to keep you entertained and making money all at the same time.

The End! Unfortunately I’m afraid not, because when you think, a social media platform company has it all, valued at all time highs, and has done all it could do, they have done it again.

Yes I know, you are like what!!! What else could a company that has it all buy? It is truly a shocker!

But this time Meta is doing something different to try to get ahead of the game before others do.

Drum roll please!!!! They are acquiring a virtual social media platform AI agents company.

Call Moltbook. It would be placed in meta's Super intelligence Lab. An AI unit of meta.

Moltbook, is an artificial intelligence agent platform that was launched in January 2026 by Matt Schlicht. The social media platform gained viral popularity immediately after it was released. Reports claim the agent platform grew to approximately 157,000 users by the end of January.

This is a platform that is totally different from the way we have been connecting and communicating with family and friends all over the world. Instead of sending messages, videos, emojis and so much more yourself, it would be done by your agent artificial (AI) intelligence that is.

So with meta now doing a new thing. And tapping into something a whole lot different. Will this new technology Moltbook, be the social media platform that everybody would love and be a part of like Facebook. Or will it disappear to never be seen again like Myspace. I guess time will tell.

But on a positive note, you can truly say that everything Meta owns, has been very successful and still to this day brings in millions of people to its platforms, and hundreds of millions in revenue. So will you be one of the ones that will check out this new platform and be a part of the Meta movement. Or will you just stay loyal to the social media platforms you already have?
