Letting them go is also love when the other person wants to go. You can't keep a person in your life if they don't want to stay. If a person asks you to set them free, there could be two possibilities: 1. They want a break from you, or 2. They want to break everything off with you. In both cases, you can’t force them to stay. Instead, make yourself understand that if he or she doesn’t want to be together, neither of you will be happy in the end if you force it. In the first case, if they want a break, they’ll eventually come back. Just wait for that if the waiting seems reasonable to you. Otherwise, it's up to you to decide what's best for your well-being. Now, in the second case, some will say, "Even if that person doesn’t want to be together, what about me? What about my love and attachments? This would be unfair to me. I can’t keep him or her in my life because that would be forceful, but staying away from them is also a form of force on me." In this case, I would say, consider your own happiness and peace of mind. Staying in a relationship where one person is unhappy will ultimately lead to more pain and resentment for both parties. It’s important to respect their wishes and let them go. Focus on your own healing and growth. Surround yourself with supportive friends and family, and engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. It's natural to feel a deep sense of loss and sadness, but over time, you will find strength and resilience. Letting go doesn’t mean you didn’t love them, it means you loved them enough to respect their feelings and let them find their own path. And in doing so, you also allow yourself the opportunity to find true happiness, whether it’s with someone else or within yourself.
