Keep Or Give Money, Nuclear War, and Extraordinary Happiness
Making choices from the Book Of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D.
Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers? What if you could keep 1,000,000 or give away 20,000,000. Gregory Stock, PH.D
My granddaughter at community college this morning said, "I am so grateful to wake up this morning. So grateful to have a car to bring me places. So grateful to have a supportive family. So grateful to eat today. So grateful to have access to an education. So grateful for my clothes and shoes.
So grateful for all I have, the list is endless.
Your outlook on your life is EVERYTHING."
How do I know she said this? Social media. She is great! Happy! I feel the same and do I need more?
Now, I could always use $10,000 but I would give it away, so the 100,000 would go further. If I could keep a million, most of it would be given away. We are in our 70s and wouldn't mind visiting Hawaii before we are too old.
But giving away $20,000,000 would help so many more people! I would have to say give away $20,000,000. It sounds difficult but for me, it would be no problem to give away that much.
I grew up with a mother who had refrigerator magnets she kept were left when she died and she gave all other gifts away. She lived minimally. My husband may not agree, but he knows how I am. His funeral is paid for. I told him I would make sure that mine was covered! lol
If you knew there would be a nuclear war in one week, what would you do? Gregory Stock, PH.D
It seems like I would want to make sure my family all knew that I love them, and if they wanted to gather, provide a place. I would think about leaving the country, but would that make a difference? I grew up with some of this fear from some who went through this fear from the earlier nuclear war days. There are still some bomb shelters out there.
Would you accept 20 years of extraordinary happiness and fulfillment if it meant you would die at the end of that period? Gregory Stock, PH.D
Twenty years is stretching it for me. I will be happy with whatever time I have. I would like 5+ years to have 50 years of sobriety. The medallion I will receive has an L on it and my last name is Lindquist. The only other medallion I saved was the XXX. Silly, but fun.
Then I want to see my great, great-grandchildren being born, and that may take several more years. We do have soon-to-be teens who are great-grandchildren, so it could happen.
Since we just had possibly our last granddaughter, I won't expect to see her great-grandchildren. My friend who is 78 now has a great-grandson who is expecting his first child and her great-great-grandchild.
Truth be told, I already have extraordinary happiness and fulfillment in my life! There have been some interruptions, but I know I have had 20 years in my lifetime. These next years are a bonus. Thank you for my life and recovery Giizheymanido/Creator God.
