Although the goal of feminism is gender equality, some contend that its contemporary manifestation may have unforeseen detrimental impacts on society. One worry is that it incites animosity and a "us versus them" mentality by depicting men as oppressors. This strategy frequently alienates men and prevents men and women from working together. The emphasis on gender quotas rather than merit is another criticism. Even with the best of intentions, this can result in reverse discrimination and compromise equity in leadership positions or the workplace. However, feminism frequently ignores men's problems, leaving them unaddressed. These problems include high rates of suicide, domestic violence, and social pressures. Feminism, according to critics, undermines traditional family values by pushing women to put their careers before their families, which lowers birth rates and weakens family bonds.
