Irish Goodbye

.GAAGS.

A wolf in sheep's clothing, barely a pup on all four paws, but with the ego of a jungle lion. Shaking on that very platform, knowing the illusion is behind the screaming fury of emotional instability.

Tick... tick... tick...

No, arrogant boy, you're not imagining things.
You're haunted. By the consequences of your actions, and everything you're seeing is real, except her.

She's the vacant hangers in your closet, pointing to the error of your ways.
She's the mirror in your bathroom, pointing to the laziness and shame.
She's the illusion you created when you deceived; when you imagined stealing her destiny, you signed with frailty.

iNsTeAd.....SHOCK! She escaped: your grasp, your poison, your scythe.

Now you swarm with envy, watching his lips touch in time, his hands around her waist, their fingers entwined;
She was new here; more beautiful than burned in your memory:
And the anger, resentment, and callous jealousy for not getting that version.

It's fall again, pumpkins, lattes, and oh no, not the presents of pathetic repentance! Dear, oh goodness... you're really losing your mind, dear.

You've created her voice, her appearance in your room, in desperation to embrace once more. Do you believe she didn't know what she held beyond her skin?
What soul and goddess magic was she drawn to pour and responsibly hold?

Weren't you warned? Didn't you express amends time and time again?
Didn't she tell you she was no savior to a forlorn craven?
Didn't she tell you she was no damsel- she needed no knight;
Yet here you come running with stone in your hand.

Oh, poor you. Everyone must hate you. It's always someone else's fault that YOU fail at everything.

It must have been the lieutenant who turned you down, too?

- TICK3TICK1TOCK -

Did she stutter at any point? Did she slouch?
Did you believe she was a naive girl with nothing but her head in the clouds?
Did she say she loved you? Did she give you a chance?
Did she scream "please, help me fix this!"

Or did she say "FUCK YOU, I'm over it."?

Did she entertain that ego long enough? Did she stroke your false alignment?
Did she fool you the way you lied to her about where your hands had been?
Did you smell men on her the way she smelled her perfume on your lips?

Did she turn the Winter games into Spring early-morning walk-ins?
Did you think another's hand was chauffeuring her kindly the night before? Did it make you sweat? Make you choke? Make your stomach fire for water?

Now, now- calm down.
Take a seat, chill out, smile more, and my,
we don't look pretty when we pout!

What about now? How're we sleeping, boy?
Is that a jester, possum hat, or clown mask we're wearing?
Is that her pillow? Her perfume? Her image?
What else did you steal? What magic did you try?
How did it work out when you attempted another lie?
Are we... obsessing, darling? Tsk, Tsk.

Do you smell the perfume in florals and vanilla bean?
Does it rush those memories where she loved you intensely?
Do you feel her so close and ever so far? Do you feel her?
Or is that your mind, alerting you and raising alarm?

How are the birds around the land? Have they come and gone as before?
Does the sun shine on the tree with glitter?
Or does it return to the dull, bigot-coded design as before?

Love her? Where?
Locking the doors and leaving no key;
Draining the mind, the heart, the car batteries.
SHHHHHHHH! DON'T TELL!!!!!!!!!

CALL THE POLICE!

Oh, well, look at that, ten until nine;
Train in forty, wedding on the 9th.
She's moving without you, and you're left behind;
There's no catching up, no second, third, fourth or fifth time.
Just an Irish goodbye.
