'Inkheart' is the beginning of a series by Cornelia Funke that could be construed as a book for middle schoolers to give them a lesson on the importance of the written word and of reading in itself. It's part one of a three-part series. In the first part the main character of Meggie and her father have to figure a way to save the book 'Inkheart' and deal with four characters that Meggie's father 'read' out of the book and now they want to go back into their story and now Meggie and her father are looking to do that,
