Rupi Kaur's Relationship Writing Prompts - Describe your fondest memories with a past or current partner.

Husband number 1: Falling in love. Our wedding. The birth of our two children. Travel with him over the road. Living and working in Montana. Party time and college together.

Husband number 2: When we met. Planning our wedding. Raising our children together. Theatre, skiing, golfing, bwca, recovery, music.

Husband number 3: RECOVERY! The love I see in his eyes when he is looking at me. He gives me the very best cards imaginable. Laughter, fun, play, watching him with our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is the best grandpa ever, and we are growing old together and loving it! It is fun to reminisce about what our children and grands say and do.

Rupi Kaur's Relationship Writing Prompts - Imagine it's the last time you're seeing your best friend. What do you say to them?

My best friends have become my sisters. I don't want to see them for the last time. It will mean they are dying or I am. I want to die first and I may with my sisters as they all appear healthier than me, even those in their later 70s and early 80s.

I will tell them I love you! Thank you/Miigwech for all you have done for me and mine. Thank you/Miigwech! I love you. Really that is the most important part other than the conversation that comes before the end. I want to be there for them at the end and I want them there for me.

Rupi Kaur's Relationship Writing Prompts - How would you end a toxic friendship?

First of all, I really can't think of a toxic relationship I have right now. I have positive, upbeat, and loving friends. It doesn't mean we can't complain or grumble to each other, but it is time-limited. In most all cases due to a solid recovery.

Some drinking relationships had to end when I stopped using alcohol and drugs. They weren't supporting my recovery. That was tough but I was too vulnerable in the beginning. I could maintain a relationship further down the road, but most are deceased now, and as long as they continued in their lifestyle it wasn't possible to have the same relationship.

Relationships that are draining are hard to maintain for me. The relationships that take so much energy just to spend a short amount of time, I have found myself backing away from. I don't always know it at the time, but it becomes clear. Some people will tell me that I am now easy to read. So it may be them backing away from me.
