Dolphins' De'Von Achane absent from voluntary workouts
Will Achane return?

The Miami Dolphins began their voluntary 9-week offseason training on Tuesday, there was one missing player, running back, De’Von Achane.
Achane is believed to be absent due to a contract holdout. He is entering the final year of his 4-year deal. He is set to make $1.1 million on his base salary in 2026 before becoming a free agent.
"I think those are talks for another time between Achane and Sully and those guys, “said Hafley during his press conference. " I'm not going to dive into those thoughts right now. Honestly, that’s part of the business. It’s part of what every team goes through in those situations and they’ll work it out.”
During the annual coaches meeting, new Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan made it clear that he does not want to move his star rusher Achane during the offseason.
“There is zero effort on my end to move Achane,” said Sullivan. Sullivan has highlighted Achane as a “building block” heading into the rebuild with the team.
Achane had a productive 2025 campaign that saw him reach 1,350 rush yards to go along with his 8 touchdowns while playing in 16 games, per ESPN.
Since entering the league in 2023, Achane has accrued 3,057 rush yards, 22 touchdowns on 544 carries.
On March 20, Miami converted $4.6 million of Achane’s salary into his signing bonus to free up $3.7 million in cap space.
