Difficult Questions To Answer?
Maybe and maybe not!
Gregory Stock, Ph.D. The Book of Questions prompts - If your friends and acquaintances were willing to bluntly and honestly tell you what they really thought of you, would you want them to?
Do you think your friends would agree with one another about the kind of person you are? How much energy do you spend doing things to favorably impress other people? If you were completely unconcerned about what others would think, what sorts of things might you do? How do you feel when people like you because they think you are someone you are not?
Gratefully, I have sister friends, and daughters who are so close that they feel like they can tell me anything. And they do. From fixing my hair when it is not to their liking to ensuring that I know if I have anything out of place. To tell me, as my daughter did, that what I said "was not nice! And even mean."
I don't have to agree, but they are almost always right, and I find myself apologizing or letting them fix my hair. I think most agree on what they think of me. They will take me with all my flaws. I think I'm an open book, and they take the good with the not-so-good. That is what being human is.
No time spent impressing others probably isn't true; however, I never think in those terms of energy spent doing things to favorably impress other people!
Truly believe that I would continue in life the way I am living it now for as long as I can. Living life one day at a time. Loving those with me, and being happy, joyous, and free in the moment.
I don't feel concerned when people like me or dislike me. That will always happen, and I am used to it. I will talk to anyone, and most everyone gets a smile.
It helps me to know that I like people, and it doesn't matter if they like me or not. As it has been proven that much of the time, when I think it is about me, it never was, but rather about them and how their day is going.
Gregory Stock, Ph.D. The Book Of Questions prompts - Have you ever considered suicide? What is so important to you that, without it, life would not be worth living?
Yes.
Attempted.
I woke up.
Thank God!
Never again.
Nothing is so important!
Gregory Stock, Ph.D. The Book Of Questions prompts - How many different sexual partners have you had in your life? Would you prefer to have had more or fewer?
I have been married three times, and I have had three sexual partners in my 71 years of life. Ideally, I would have preferred to have one partner. It didn't work out that way. My first husband is when I gave birth to our two children. With my second husband, I got a stepson, and with my third husband, I got 4 stepchildren.
In my life, I have missed sexual partners for just two years. I was with partner one for fifteen years, partner two for thirteen years and now partner number three for twenty-five years. I don't believe I missed out on a thing by only having 3 partners. I am hopeful that I will only have 3 partners in this life.
